This place is so cool! The temperature changes inside the enclosures are insane, you truly feel like you are transported to a completely different part of the world. I wish I had taken more pictures but loved being in the moment. Highly recommend!!

I know all the usual haunted spots but I want to know where you’ve gone that scared the sh*t out of you and you would either not go back or not go back alone.

Things To Do Any fun facts about or places in Northwestern Arizona?

Hey guys as a hobby I am playing with my friends in tabletop Fallout RPG campaign that's located in Northwestern Arizona. And as I started doing this I became curious about this general region for my own fascination and theirs.

But as someone who is from outside of not only Arizona, but the wider US, I have to rely only on the things that are digititalized. Which obviously excludes me from the info you can get being physically as a local there that isn't on the Internet.

And because of that I will be glad to hear from you about what you can tell me about this place. If you know something interesting about Hualapai/Havasupai People, about mines of Oatman or about this part of Route 66 or any other thing there I would be very grateful for sharing this knowledge with me.

Either way, have a nice and sunny (but not scorchingly hot) summer day, guys!

Things To Do what’s your go-to way to enjoy arizona summer without melting?

i know “stay inside” is the obvious answer, but curious what people actually do to make the heat bearable or even kinda fun? early hikes? sunset drives? iced drinks and hiding in bookstores?
i’m open to any ideas that make summer feel less like survival mode.

It was absolutely beautiful here- a hidden gem. Low 40s which was refreshing after this summer in Phoenix. Trees are turning colors, the soft churn of the train, the fresh air, not another soul for miles except for the cow. Eveything shuts down on the 29th so we were glad to get another camp in 🙌⛺️

Things To Do Release the Kraken! Ray Harryhausen exhibit in Tucson

Visited the Ray Harryhausen exhibit at The Mini Time Machine Museum in Tucson, and saw original models from his movies. This man, these creatures, are legends. He was a big influence on Cameron, Lucas, Spielberg, del Toro, Jackson and so many others who shaped magical filmmaking.

The whole Mini Time Machine Museum is a Tucson gem, but I’ll give it its own post later. This one is just about the sheer magic of tiny models in the hands of a magician that loomed large in my childhood.

Things To Do How to get a Cowboy Experience near Phoenix?

I have family that invited us to stay for a little over a weekend, and I'd like to bring my friend to give them a cowboy experience because it's something we've been talking about for a while. However, places like dude ranches seem to make you buy an overnight room. Does anyone have things to do near Phoenix for the full experience? Any and all help greatly appreciated.

I was wondering if there are any places that do a free little thing for dogs? Like how some coffee places have the pup cup. I've lived here for decades and it just never occurred to me to find out. Pet tax included . Her name is Penny and the tuxedo cat is Mickey, her bestie.

Things To Do I’m in desperate need of fun

Moved here over a year ago in the Tempe area and I’m dying to have some fun. I’m 29F. What do people my age do for fun out here?? Aside from going out and drinking a ton..? I’m tired of being alone and going about my day as normal.

Edit: I appreciate all the kind, thoughtful answers here! I just want to say I obviously do things, I’m just getting bored of going to events, hiking, or whatnot on my own. So I’m curious what others do to see if maybe something sparks an idea or interest. Thanks again 🙏🏼

This gem of a white-knuckle adventure was closed due to damage caused by flooding in 2019. It recently reopened and we had the opportunity to drive from the AJ end to the Globe end.

There was an accident in the opposing lanes near the AJ side involving a motorcycle. Their traffic was backed up for a few miles and it looked like they had been there for a while (people outside cars, window shades in windshields, etc…). Once we passed that, it was pretty smooth with the exception of a few narrow passes where opposing traffic was a bit too close for comfort.

I drove my 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid and it handled the road well. Some less experienced drivers in smaller cars seemed to struggle a bit but still managed to get through in one piece.

If you need an adventure and can’t afford an amusement park for throw up rides, check out this drive!

10/10 - Would recommend to a friend!

Hi! Does anyone have any recommendations of any museums, towns, or places to see in Arizona that are related to western towns / early settler migration, or any native history also?

Something like Tombstone (which I’ve already been to), or the Heard Museum or any other recs! Thanks :)

I want to go to more small “intimate” concerts with local artists.

Or even if you have a fav band with a show coming up in AZ?

Thanks !
