They weren't introduced at all... unless I missed a scene in the anime. And now they have monitoring stuff in hawks? What? When did that happen?

Manga readers seem to know what's up but honestly I have no clue lol

There is a lot of confusion because they switched the arc. Their original introduction in the manga takes place in the arc after this. Which in the manga, took place before this arc. They were going for intrigue and got confusion from anime onlies instead.

Bones took creative liberty and mixed everything around compared to the manga. On the one popular arc that everyone looks forward to.
