Not only a weakened state, but with no memories of the thunder spears. That was the real deciding factor imo.

I think that was one of my favorite things about the episode, he doesn't have a clue of what happened and he is just stumbling around, getting surprised that something destroyed his leg. Best season so far, they got me back after I lost a little bit of interest in the second season.

Reacting like in real life going unconscious or damage to brain the memories did not have time to be properly storied and thus are hard or impossible to recall.

How can you lose interest after the second season? What the fuck? Lol

When i started reading the manga, i dropped it for like a year and a half because the shit with the coup was so goddamn boring, waiting a month for each release with nothing going on but talking

So i feel him. There was definitely a lull that could make people pass on it.

Of course when i came back and read this arc which was basically hype incarnate, i blew through every chapter like the wind.

The coup was season 3 though. Second season was reveal of Reiner, Bertoldt, and Ymir and the subsequent battles

Interestingly enough, I think the second season was phenomenal and loved the change of pace compared to the slog of mid s1. Especially how s2 and the current part of s3 take place in such a short time period.

S01 really felt slow when it was released weekly but S02 with the conspiracy stuff wasn’t that much interesting to me. Of course, maybe I’ll see it now with a different mind, I can now tell apart all of the characters and know better what the story is supposed to be. I expected titan action with small doses of mistery and got something totally different.

Am I remembering something wrong? I recall quite a bit of Titan action in season 2

Probably, I didn't pay enough attention at that time. I wasn't as invested with the story as I am now.

Huh I was super invested 😅 that’s when we got the huge reveal, and Reiner vs Eren, and all kinds of crazy shit

Haha yeah, that reveal was one of my favorites parts but I don't know, I really can't tell you what S02 was about. But now I'm on Ep23 again and it's 100x better because I can understand now who is who and catch the little details that I missed the first time around.

he couldve and shouldve died in the first thunderspear attack but that consciousness moving was an interesting tidbit. Not too far out of the realm since normal titans no longer seem to have a human controller or brain other than a brief spinal portion in the nape of their neck, meaning the host mind and nervous system does inhabit the whole body as the original human host is reduced to nothing.

titan shifters probably do the same thing but prevent themselves from complete dissolving into a titan.

Could it be his multiple personality disorder thing?

It's a possibility, but to me the fact that he had his head blown off, along with the whole 'moving the consciousness to the body' thing, is the much more likely situation. But I could be wrong.

No, because if it was his personality disorder thing he wouldn‘t thought about capturing eren
