Rather than not being kamen rider anymore, it's more of that Mask draws out his full "potential" as a kamen rider. Even in real world a real mask makes every action less embarrassing because you don't really care, nobody knows anyway lol. That mask made him felt like a child again, and it subconsciously became his catalyst to be a kamen rider. Tackle lost her helmet and still showed true tackle spirit. This tournament really is one where both losers and winners will gain something.

Tackle and rider man winning this tournament fights were essential because they are more of the "normal" despite being eccentric. They can't have any "common sense" when they are fighting shocker monsters and combatants that already exists outside of normalcy. This episode and previous one is more than just a battle, it gave a much needed development to rider man and tackle because they don't have enough "RIDER".

I'm still questionable on what they would do with hilarious, I could see the show pit her against thunder raiko and grow stronger somehow.

But really, he didn't wear a mask and whooped a bear in the forest episode. I'm glad he lost this episode though, it could give more insight to how he could be a better kamen rider and even ichiyo.

It's so perfect for this show that the power scaling metric is how delulu the characters are.
