A woman, wo- wo- wo- won?!

Her costume is still just fan service, but this is a pretty big victory! A female character that isn't an accessory in a battle anime and that even managed to cream the protagonist himself of all characters.

I wasn't expecting Yuriko to ever win to be honest, I underestimated the author. Yukarisa might be a comic relief character, but it would be freaking awesome if we also saw her get a geek-power character development arc with some badass moments of her own. KIIIIIII!!!~

It's also great to see Yuriko finally voice out her grudge over her traumatic childhood experience.

I’ve said this in other threads, but I really do appreciate how the women in this show can both be incredibly sexed-up but also have their own agency and badass moments. Yuriko rocks.

I've got to say risky move on the animes behalf, i expect many people won't be happy with a girl winning like that, not just because she's obviously more powerful or because shes a love interest, she won the battle of wills, that almost never happens, but It's pretty awesome to see.

a whole lot of butt hurt, even in this thread alone.

its worse in the main sub. People justifying their complaints by saying stuff like "so he's no longer the MC in his own anime".

because he isn't, yoriko stayed the strongest tojima never caught up or anyone else, they bash the main character like his an old bastard and washed all the time the author had a woman as a main character air master and clearly is bias, his forced to work with a Male MC they don't like that is being constantly seen in the anime.

Who cares if he losses though:

1 its a story people have progression and the purpose of the character and the direction of the story can change. If it was just linear that would be fine but less interesting.

2 this story clearly isn't about just one dudes life.

3 he's still the strongest, he just lost in a fight where skill was the deciding factor.

Whever tackle gets into a fight where the opponent is overwhelmingly tough she has no chance. But if the difference is within a limit she can overcome the difference. But clearly the mc can overcome those overwhelmingly tough opponents even though no one else can cos hes strong.

  1. its a comedy anime where you take the characters relationships seriously but the premise is meant to be a big fun over the top romp, parodying the original kamen rider, whilst embracing the love for the series.

Just seems like people are salty a woman beat the mc tbh i couldn't care about that stuff, aslong as it is an interesting/fun development in the story that makes some seance and shows her progression as a hard working raving lunatic who loves tackle and i believe it does. Guess you can say the insult is uncalled for thst i can understand but that a part of the comedy of the series.

the thing is tojima wasn't shown to be a scrub he can beat 50 high schoolers at the age of 15, train for decades and be strong enough to wrestle with a bear by avoiding parrying, blocking and countering their attacks. In yoriko's fight he was simply a mindless brute, yoriko was shown to be hit a few times where she somehow turn it around on tojima overpowering him using some kind of magical force to allow her set up her attacks, she literally swept him off the ground and somehow propelled tojima 20ft into the air and somehow jumped that height to grab him to do a body slam, tojima throughout that exchange was still on his fall animation while yoriko did a whole ass breakdance lmao.

Just remind you that the anime is aptly named "Tojima Tanzaburo Wants to Be a Masked Rider" if you quite literally skip the first episode its becomes quite adamant tojima is literally just some old guy in the story who is the butt of the joke. From his back story to the present time his a bum, baited, rejected and ditched by a girl he saved to selling off his whole life worth of collection and the only thing he has is a scuffed ass mask from some random.

Add the fact that yoriko has already gotten multiple wins against relevant shocker combatants, gets proposed on and has a whole ass full costume that comes with fanservice like who really is the main character, even spider man and the bar girl has had more development and dedicated episodes to them. So far Tojima aint tojimahing for an anime called tojima.

Its a good anime but clearly it shouldn't be even called tojima they made him into a bum which is probably what the author sees a 40 y/o kamen rider fanboys are like.

What a dishonest take. The reason people aren't happy is because she was Mary Sued and they had to nerf the MC to make her win. There is no plot-consistent way she can eat his punch and be fine but y'all stay dishonest.

Right. It was for people with such hypocritical takes like this that they did that for. There is no plot-consistent reason for her to win other than for "Yay, Women!" and misandry. And I say that as someone who has loved shows with strong female characters that defeated "men" like Jessica Jones. All they ended up doing is a disservice to tackle because we know the real truth. A man with skills to destroy trees, use leg and knee blocks with great agility in defeating a bear suddenly has only one skill? Yeah you won't be celebrating this if the roles were switched. Stop being intellectually dishonest.
