This is exactly why gamers deserve yellow paint.

Correct. There is nothing wrong with the design principle of yellow paint, in fact its ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for most games. The only issue here is that a specific style of guiding them through the levels became so common so gamers became aware of it and then got their egos involved.

Ironically alot of the people who need yellow paint the most will be the most offended by yellow paint haha. So its not a question of not having the yellow paint design, its just a question of changing the visuals to deliver the same exact guiding mechanism while not setting off their current emotional baggage. Because if you don't most of those players who swear they don't need yellow paint is gonna get lost and mad and frustrated haha.

Trust me, game devs would rather not have to add yellow paint style guidance at all. It's just more work they have to do that they could save time and money on if it was not needed.
