Any idea why so many different character art styles? It was absolutely jarring veering between the Hanna-Barbera drawn Lucy and, say, the cast at the coffee house. Even within the same environments, it feels…either purposeful or overly faithful, and not being familiar with the original, no idea.
I’m a boring old man and doesn’t seem like for me, but outside the art styles, seems like a lot of fun for the demographic it’s aiming for. It feels almost made for a dub though, both given original source and some of the pacing / joke delivery feeling a bit…off in dialogue, even when visual execution seemed right on point / more expressive.
It’s neat. Probably won’t watch all of it, but hey, good for an Eisner winner to see adaptation like this.
