Of all things, I didn't expect the thing that would make Klen change his mind is seeing Luna walk and seeing his pale purple eyes. The fact that he decided to keep going after that shows that, despite being a Lord of the Beasts, Klen has plenty of humanity in him.

This show really continues to defy expectations, you'd think Alicia had Drel there for a second, only for her to explode at the stomach because Drel actually managed to land two blows on her before she landed her attack. Thankfully, Drel wasn't Alicia's target but his Regalia.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?! This show has been very consistent with how gruesome it is with blood and gore, but Drel's death has got to be the most brutal this entire season. Not gonna lie, it was satisfying to hear Drel struggle while Vordin was taking back his Dark Ichor.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who got nervous when Klen stopped Princess T'ala from approaching Luna? I really thought Klen was gonna do something to the Princess, but thank fucking goodness he just wanted Luna to stand up on his own two feet and be reunited with his mother on his own. That entire scene genuinely made me tear up. TT

It's funny to see how Klen is so proud of Luna while Alicia comments on how it's his fault that Luna got separated from his mother in the first place. xD

I appreciate that Rhode makes it clear that it was Alicia who defeated Drel. And it's amazing how all of the soldiers were surprisingly civil and immediately ended fighting as soon as the announcement of Drel's death and the call to retreat started. I thought some of them would at least keep on fighting for a bit.

So Naie is still alive, poor Favio got knocked out again, Gart has decided to go back to Zavthier, and reinforcements to Hiden show up late. Oh, and it looks like Klen's body is still trapped in that bubble. I guess defeating Drel didn't make it go away since the power comes from Vordin in the first place.

Ah, of course it can't be that easy. And here I was, excited to find out what's inside that book at the end of this episode. I guess the next thing Klen wants to do is try to open the Book of Toah and maybe find the other books related to it?

Queen Dowager T'ala thanking Nelluru for feeding his son was such a great scene. I'm really hoping that T'ala would hire Nelluru as part of her staff so she can continue taking care of Luna.

I didn't know what kind of outrageous thing Klen was gonna ask T'ala for, but I definitely did not expect him to ask her to become Luna's magic teacher. I mean, if he wants to manipulate the throne from behind the scenes, sticking close to Luna as he grows up is the way to do it.

That after-credits scene tho! Why does Alicia suddenly look like a Hidenian? And are those school uniforms?! Please tell me we get a Season 2 announcement soon. I really want to see how Klen would do in a school setting. xD

Man, what an amazing anime. It's been a while since we've had a great dark fantasy anime like this that's this brutal, while not being edgy. I absolutely adored everything in this show, like its characters and world-building. Fingers crossed that Season 2 gets announced soon!

EDIT: SEASON 2 CONFIRMED! LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who got nervous when Klen stopped Princess T'ala from approaching Luna

I didn't expect him to kill her (though I did consider it, for a split second - especially given he COULD kill her in a split second), but I thought perhaps he would tell her that she can't have him back, he'd keep Luna with him and all...

Seems he'll stay with him instead!

It's funny to see how Klen is so proud of Luna while Alicia comments on how it's his fault that Luna got separated from his mother in the first place

Clevatess: "My job here is done!"

Alicia: "But you didn't do anything. In fact, you did WORSE than nothing, 90% of what happened is your fault!"

I mean, if he wants to manipulate the throne from behind the scenes, I guess that's how he'll be able to stick close to Luna while he grows up.

I think using Luna's magic/potential (and the legend) is an even bigger incentive for him at this point, vs having his puppet king! I think he's looking at the True Humans/The other Dark Beast Lords, a lot more than at humanity's kingdoms!

Why does Alicia suddenly look like a Hidenian? And are those school uniforms?! Please tell me we get a Season 2 announcement soon.

School romcom arc, let's go!

School romcom arc, let's go!

Don't know where the romcom part comes in, but I'll be interested if it really does somehow manage to weave that in there!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who got nervous when Klen stopped Princess T'ala from approaching Luna?

I didn't think he was going to kill her or anything, but I was worried about how things were going to go down.

I've been saying for a few episodes (since her introduction) that I've been wondering what would happen when Klen came across Luna's mother, especially with Luna. It seemed to me that he'd probably want to stick to his promise and plan to raise the prince by himself too much to reunite the two.

Thankfully, he just had a much better way for them to reunite!

So Naie is still alive

Good. I want Klen and the others to keep bullying her into helping them and especially for her to keep accidentally helping them while trying to help herself.

poor Favio got knocked out again

Nice to see him still alive. And also very nice to see him learning the importance of the helmet.

Lmao. I posted the wrong link😂 https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/s/W56Gezp1ZM

So anyways. How's the vending machine anime? I haven't watched it yet.

I'm not the one you asked, but I've also been watching the vending machine anime. In my opinion, it does share some similarities with typical isekai slop, but they've taken the vending machine thing really seriously, which places some interesting limitations on the main character. This makes it a pretty novel experience, at least for a while. The novelty has started wearing off for me though. But most of the characters are quite likeable, so I'm still enjoying it regardless.

Season one was enjoyable but I do feel like the novelty wore off. I got happy something I had watched got a sequel, then realised I don't really care enough to watch the second season.

But yeah, at least it stuck to it's core premise, so I'm happy for the ones who are enjoying it.

"we have to find the other books"

door knocks

"I heard you are going on a quest to find old books?" - some white-haired elf mage

The religious man in front of the demonic blood sphere says that the creature could get out if it wanted to, but doesn't, so it suits him that this "prison" is still active.

They're not gonna put their life on the line for a minimum wage job. /j

Seeing as we don't see Nelluru with them at the end, as I guess they're attending a school college, I guess you are probably right and she's now Luna's personal maid.

Not gonna lie, it was satisfying to hear Drel struggle while Vordin was taking back his Dark Ichor.

I actually had the opposite reaction. I felt sorry for Drel
