Alicia doesn't care if she's a fake hero. She'll save the world anyway so it won't matter because that's what Himmel the Hero would do.

Idk Frieren only hates demons because they aren't actually intelligent they just act the part to more easily prey on beings with mana. They're still mindless beasts at their core in her universe.

If she met Clevatess though I like to think she'd recognize that this demon is genuinely intelligent and isn't driven by instinct and bloodlust but by it's own values and beliefs. I think she'd want to understand it and how Clev is different to her own universe's demons since she loves learning about magic so much

I don't think their "mindless" it's more they don't have the concept of empathy as they are truly separate from humanity but they can logically understand what empathy is to use it against humans

In Frieren's universe Demons have the ability to speak purely to fool humans, it's the adaptation of a predator, nothing more.

Dark Beasts aren't human, they don't prey on humans.
They have their own emotions drives values etc.

Thats why I love the demons in Frieren so much

Maybe some people should keep that in mind when using AI

Though the story itself subverts that quite a bit. Demons talk amongst themselves, and even use speech in scenarios where it clearly doesn't benefit them. Such as Lügner expressing outrage at [Frieren] Fern concealing her mana. And this was when he was already beyond saving or action.

They have their own emotions drives values etc.

They do, but that's not the same as being "mindless beasts".

Right, they aren't incapable of emotions, but they have a completely different emotional framework than humanoids.
Mana is a core part of how they organize their pseudo-society, so having somebody being deceitful about their mana for them is as disgusting as somebody deceiving others for taking advantage of them is for us.

Right, I am not saying that they aren't intelligent and can't collaborate.
The point is that they don't have a true social structure, not how humans do.
For humans, speech is how society organizes itself, it's not just about communication, but it's about community.

Humans use speech to communicate, but they can deceive, Demons use speech to deceive but can communicate.
Speech is the tool, but the "evolutionary" underpinnings of that tool are very different, even if it seems the same.

Like, bats and birds both have wings, they work the same and have the same purpose. Humans and Demons both have speech, but its purpose is very different.

TBF, dark beasts aren't really "demons" per se. I'm not sure if she would shoot on sight just yet.

Well that's just not true. We see them both planning and executing fairly long-term schemes. And of course the conversation they're able to have is more than "mindless", even if it's not honest.

And that's to say nothing of the likes of Qual, inventing magic that it took humans + Frieren many years to just replicate. There's no way you can dismiss that as the work of a "mindless beast".

I don't think you're going to convince Frieren otherwise. She was raised on the fact that there is no such thing as a "good" demon. It doesn't matter what the demon is saying - it's a lie and words can only be used for deceit. She has 1000 years of experience reinforcing this ideology.

For her, a good demon cannot exist just as magic cannot be used without mana. For her, it's literally against the law of the universe.

I also don't see Clevatess as the type to explain his drives, values, etc. immediately upon meeting someone. It would probably have to occur mid-fight during their battle, assuming he even bothers explaining himself. So in a world where that does happen, I still don't see them being friends. If anything, both of them would just go their separate ways content with ignoring the other for the rest of their lives unless Clevatess started doing mass murders or Frieren intrudes on his territory again.

Also, I only say this is as an anime-only. I don't know how either of these 2 characters progress later into their respective stories.

Frieren will make Clevatess look at his back constantly to not be zoltracked. Although, this is also a win for Clevatess, given that he wanted to learn magic. And what more good opportunity to have because Alicia and Himmel will definitely get along. And that is enough to keep frieren in check.

[spoiler response]The part with the Hero's Sword not accepting Himmel is in the anime, it is the 2nd part of that fake hero bit that isn't in the anime yet, but Himmel not being THE hero of the Hero's Sword legend is already known

Himmel and his Stroy already perfectly captured what it means to be a hero. It is not titles, a special sword, or some other bs, but the characteristics of that person. Many shows sadly get that entirely wrong.

Alicia doesn't care if she's a real hero or a fake one. She's going to do everything in her power to save the world regardless.

If it's in her power to save people, she'll do it. And if it's not in her power, she'll die trying. Again and again.

She must have read about the hero of legends, that's why she is so enamored of being a hero. It must be Himmel's group. Hoping there will be a crossover in the future of Himmel's party and Clevatess, Both TRUE (fake) heroes through and through.
