I thought that's just the other research party? Though 1,000 is still to much for that. Hoping for it to be mistranslation or something, cause the number is weird

Remember the arrogant mage? When the party arrived in the devil's location, they already massacred most of those other parties.

Honestly mistranslation would make the most sense and didn’t even occur to me. I guess it could be dead bodies and spell pick that up thru that wasn’t the vibe I got but that could be my fault for assuming that.
