Is the scene in the novel better? I'm enjoying it and was already considering reading it so I may do anyhow, but that scene in the op really does look a lot better so its a big bonus if its more like that in the books.

Yeah honestly the LN in on another level, full description from when he enters the dungeon, drills down to the 40th layer and does a sick entrance.

Also the banter between Ryo and Abel is just simply better, please pick it up.

If I remember correctly he also stops at the 39 floor before drilling down. Trying to see if he can tell what is on floor 40 before drilling down.

Did they also explain how Ryo was able to drop down precisely above Abel and the demon?

Considering he mentioned using probe magic to detect the weird ball, I am thinking it's something like that. However it's not outright stated in the anime.

It’s similar probe magic to the one the wind magician in Abel’s party uses.

Except Ryo developed it from water magic. It has 2 versions which he dubbed Passive sonar and Active sonar.

Passive sonar which detects enemies/objects when they move and sends feedback to Ryo to detect. In places with a lot of movement it can be “noisy” for Ryo. (Example: windy forest with all the moving tree branches+leaves)

Active sonar where he sends a pulse from himself and he detects anything and everything that bounces back his wave.

Both magics work via water molecules in the air.

What language do you read it in? I’m reading it in English via Google translate and my only complaint is sometimes idk who is yelling at who…haha.

I'm reading the official EN version, I can see if it gets a bit weird via google translate though. I tried going into the web novel after finishing vol 4 but that is just machine translated garbage.

There's an english translation already. At least up to 4th novel, with 5th sometime in november. DM if you want some help with "finding" it

Would I be able to get help finding it?

all right yeah I think LN is gonna be a must for this

Yea the LN's are great, my only complaint is just that Ryo never really... changes. Admittedly that's a problem with like 99% of LN/WN protagonists but it's really felt with Ryo lol

Everything about the LNs is better. His life before finding Abel could’ve easily been 5-6 episodes

I only wished that they kept the “fake” Michael joke in there…
