Started reading the LN and got to say they are suprisngly more enjoyable than I expected.

I'm glad they properly did the part with his meeting with Sera and didn't just skip though it with a few quick scenes. Also they didn't just still frame the fight that was a plus.

Just a mention about the water jets that I don't think fall into source corner as it is just a small bit of info skipped. They are actually filled with very tiny bits of ice hardened with magic. That is why they are called abrasive.

That was mentioned in episode 1 when he came up with them

Lots of anime can't get into the finer details like that unfortunately. Reading the light novels and hearing their inner thoughts for example.

Also Ryo's entrance to save the day is just epic in the LN.

Is the LN better about people's reactions to Ryo using magic? Or do they get skipped over just like the do in this anime adaptation?

They made the anime action packed. The LN is more about relationships between characters, reactions, discussions.

That sounds pretty good.

They spend more time on it but everyone just kind of accepts his insanity

They are licensed. Can get them on any ebook selling sight or go to j-novel for dmr free (sp?) and might have extra content.

Oh I thought they weren't translated yet (I probably did a terrible job looking into it lmao).
I honestly feel like reading them as well. There's something about this story and world that hooked me in.
