Damn. Doomed your entire land because you wanted to "prank" the weird kid. Seems kind of extreme for a punishment, but it makes sense within the context of nobility.

Quit possible they do that but also possible after they immediately shover their daughter in a Nunnery where they lock the Nuns in in some isolated area or marry her to some black sheep male in internal exile guarding the frontier or in isolated area to have massive amounts of children and her never allowed to leave the isolated area sent. Plus of course land and or money. Nobles often not publicly charged and convicted instead the punishment is hidden from public in some ways but public that pays close attention will know something was done wrong and consequences applied.

In the novel (maybe also in the manga) there was an additional scene between Isabelle and the prince where the prince outright asked her if her father would really stop supporting this Noble, and she said, that her father would not do that for personal reasons because it could risk the kingdom.
