Probably one of the few anime where the fight choreography genuinely took me out of immersion. The Dark God just stands there...and tanks her attacks? For a guy who supposedly ate ancient humans he has a stark lack of battle knowledge. I'll chalk Alina's lack of battle experience and the Deus Ex Machine she pulled out as standard power fantasy stuff, but the Dark God really irks me.

It just feels like they wrote the Silver Sword party in the corner, which resulted in The Dark God dropping a few IQ points offscreen and forgetting he could eat souls or you know...use those muscular feet he has to move out of the way of the hammer strikes, at least before Alina powered up.

Shit writing all around.

Yeah, there were a couple of things that could have been done as "fixes" too.

• Soul eating takes time so Alina can notice the gem glowing and run over. (With gem glowing when the traitor's soul is being extracted) • When Silver Sword attempts to escape, both Jade and the regen ability are taken and captured. • Give the pink girl another ability (stealth or secondary healing) so their survival long-term makes more sense

Just these 3 things maintains the immersion and allow for the possibility of Alina making it in time. Her fighting skills as subpar makes sense as well because she isn't battled trained.
