Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Stuck in Adjudication - Please Advise

Following up with a post based on my chat messages with u/SoThenIThought_.

All of my claims currently say pending for the past 8 weeks now, and I'm hoping to get some advice.

1. I was fired, not for misconduct but for performance. Eligible for Washington Unemployment benefits.
    a. Uploaded my termination letter when applying for unemployment.
    b. Stated in my application that it was due to not meeting performance standards.

2. Pending Issues: Adjudications in Progress & listed "Change Dates".
    a. Separation from a job - 9/28/2025
    b. School attendance - 10/12/2025
    c. Commissioner Approved Training (CAT) - 10/12/2025

3. Applied for unemployment 9/14/2025.
    a. Submitted the "School Attendance" info along with my weekly claim on 10/12/2025.
    b. I started a community action training course (learning fish & wildlife habitat restoration, ecology, community activism & volunteering, etc). It's free, no audits / credits / certifications awarded, and I am still fully capable of working 40 hours a week if I were to get a job, all of which I stated in the "School Attendance" issue submission. I don't know if this was a mistake to add to my claim and pushed my overall adjudication time.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping to put my best foot forward with documents submitted before escalating to my state rep.

I was fired on September 10th 2025. I applied for unemployment that same day. I was approved money wise on 9/11/25

Our determination: • Your weekly benefit amount is $xxx for each week you are eligible to receive benefits. • Your benefit year is Sep 7 2025 to Sep 5 2026. You can file for unemployment benefits on your claim during this time. • The maximum benefits you can receive in your benefit year is $xx,xxx

I got a notification on 9/10/25

Hello,

We need information and you must respond to this request, even if it relates to a past claim or if you have stopped claiming.

You must respond by 9/23/2025.

Your claim may be denied if we do not hear from you and could result in repaying the benefits you’ve received.

I replied with the info they asked and uploaded the document on 9/13/25

Since 9/25/25 I've been stuck on adjudication

Issue was separation from Job.

There has been no update since that point.

Here what was sent in my termination paperwork

I have read through all of the megathreads but not sure what else to do.

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting In adjudication for self employment - Troubleshooting help

  • Date you applied: Sept 7
  • name of open eligibility issues: Self-Employment
  • type of job separation: Laid off

Troubleshooting help please

My questions are – do I need to be doing anything more than filing weekly claims? Is there a way to get the process moving faster? Is it just a waiting game at this point?

Background: I started filing but selected "self-employement" as a form of work because I was hoping to pick up some contract work (marketing) while I sort out what's next for me. I got moved into adjudication on Oct 10. I have worked minimal self-employment hours, and and have not been paid for any contract work yet.

Thanks so much

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Had my last 2 shifts covered

After escalation I finally got an email from ESD. How should I respond to this? I gave over 4 weeks notice I would be leaving. My last 2 shifts I had the person filling my position work for me. My manager approved this. We used Slack and I no longer have access to the conversations. Could this cause me to not receive unemployment or should I explain how my shifts were covered?

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Adjudication in progress for two weeks

I quit my job on Nov 4. due to hostile work environment and a pay cut of over 25 percent. I applied in Nov 4. On Nov 16, the portal changed my status as “Pending-Adjudication in progress”.

I’ve submitted my weekly claims and nothing has changed since the 16th

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Troubeshooting post for Slutshameless

Original Request:

Hello, I have been reading posts on the unemployment page, and specifically and reading about escalation. Someone posted that prior to making any decisions, it would be wise to contact you for help with trouble shooting.

The situation is this:

May of this year, I brought up to management that I believed there were come violations of Washington’s paid Sick leave going on. I was told that I was the only one with an issue, and told To drop it if wanted to keep my job. I tried to talk to coworkers about it, and was sent home and asked not to come in for three days. I filed an LNI complaint, and immediately afterward began receiving write ups citing my performance being inadequate as the issue. I have evidence that this was not accurate. Four months, and five write ups later (one write up cited use of protected leave as the reason) I was terminated.

When I was sent home and asked not to come I opened a claim and applied for standby. It was my waiting week, I was approved for standby, and ultimately my employer decided to pay me for the retaliatory suspension, after consulting with an Hr expert.

After getting fired, I send the LNI auditor a message updating her, tried calling, to this day haven’t ever heard back. I ended up Getting info about my former employee response to my complaint t through a public records request.

I’ve been filing claims, I’ve uploaded my termination notice, as well as some evidence of retaliation (texts from Manager citing reason for suspension, the write up for using leave, the original six pages of my Employee file, with no write ups, from Before filing the complaint).

I’ve prepared a rebuttal to be added to my personal file at the former place of employment. I’m going to submit that this week. I was thinking I should also submit it to unemployment, and send the LNI auditor a copy as well. Is there anything I am missing ? Should I escalate?

Original Request:

Hey there.

Sorry to bug in reaching out directly. But I noticed you know a very good deal about unemployment and had a few questions. Its been 9 weeks now and still havent received an update for unemployment. If I log on to the website, it says pending. Ive filed claims every week and have kept track of where ive applied. I try calling and even if I call at 8am when the lines open, I get a message saying that "due to high call volume, my call cannot be answered". Ive tried calling for weeks now. I have even sent secure messages and nothing. I was hoping to provide more clarity or answer questions on my application. Plus, see what I can do (if anything) to help with receiving benefits.

Not sure what to do i thought I would reach out and ask you on what I should do next.

Thank you for your time and consideration

(SoThenIThought_: i requested that they make a post on November 13th and they have not so I'm making it for them)

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Spouse terminated 11/07 for (not actually) "misconduct" - still eligible for WA Unemployment?

They don't have evidence that this wasn't "misconduct" (all verbal / he-said-she-said), but essentially, they were working for Intel (CA-based) from WA (offer letter specifically claimed "hybrid").

They worked at Intel since Aug 2022, but on the ESD website (eServices) they do not see any wages for any quarters there. I suspect these wages may be on OR/CA, but I have her W-2s.

Unfortunately they did not save any of their paystubs for the past 18 months... so I probably don't have a case, right? I have SOME of their paystubs but not all 18 months worth. I do have their W-2s and the ESD website shows their internship pay (MI-based employer, worked remotely from WA in 2021), so... that's something.

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Claim: Pending

I submitted an application for unemployment the week following my separation (Nov. 9). They gave no reason at the time, so inputted reasoning: I don't know. I submitted my weekly claim (Nov. 15). There was a status update in the portal regarding pending issues (Nov. 16). My prev. employer emailed the reasoning for my termination (Nov. 18). How can I assist in expediting this process?

Hi all, wanted to see if I could get any help with my claim. I was let go from my last position in September due to performance. I filed my first claim September 20th and have been continuing to do so weekly since then. I now have 8 weeks worth of pending claims and was wondering if there was anything I can do to expedite the process. Thank you.

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Training Benefits Appeal ruled in favor

Hello everyone! I did attempt for some time searching through the history of the sub to find information that could help me with my specific benefits case. I feel I need a bit more information in order to make progress.

I got laid off from budget cuts March 1st this year, and applied for unemployment shortly after, along with training benefits by the end of the month. I got approved for unemployment but disqualified from all payments(due to physical inability that im in the process of getting supplemental si/disability for), so I looked into going back to school. The reason for this being a change in careers due to my health forcing me out of my previous in-demand employment (cooking, reception, and retail), and a newfound passion that had been growing for a few years in the form of a special interest. The Work Training program had a list of colleges and programs available and approved for ahead of time by their program to retrain me in a better suited field(the field is in demand and growing), so I started college online and made monthly payments to this college despite not having any income(Its a private college certificate program and they dont accept state or federal loans, and my credit is too poor to qualify for a payment plan through affirm or klarna). I was hoping to use unemployment to pay for this. I feel a bit screwed over...

I was able to pause payments and halt classes with the college until Sept 15th. So thats my deadline to figure all this out. I dont have any hope left, maybe shreds, and feel abandoned by the infrastructure flaws.

I went to a judge for my training benefits case on June 21st, and the same day afterwards, it was appealed in my favor, stating in the paperwork I was "wrongfully denied" when I applied in March. I was told a decision would be made in 30 days or so, so I waited, and I learned later I had to search for the decision, as I was not notified by mail in eservices or physical mail, like I had wrongfully expected. A couple phone calls and I found out I had to log into my e-services account and find the decision through the website I used for the hearing. This is when I learned it was ruled in favor.

I dont know where to go from here, or how any of this works, or who to even talk to. I did try to reach out to unemployment 2 weeks ago via messaging system, and haven't heard back. I sent them the appeal favor document today. I am guessing its either that severely understaffed/underfunded/etc, or its the incorrect person to contact regarding this issue. What do I do next? Im running out of time and I havent made a dime. :c As far as my unemployment weekly submissions, I no longer get asked questions about my employment searching(Since July I noticed this), and everything since the beginning to today is "disqualified". Am I screwed from seeing any benefits come in? I can get a job, though itll make me really sick and aggrivate my conditions, but I have to do something cus I now have no option for this college program as I cannot back out after the 3rd payment due to their policy.

I am desperate, even at my own detriment. Please send some info my way if you have any, and if I did something wrong mods please correct me! I really dont know what Im doing and im a mess emotionally ._. , I called work source to get a number I can try, and Im currently on hold to talk to someone who can hopefully advise me (unemployment training benefit hotline).

Hey Connor. We chatted last winter about unemployment. My husband's hours are cut, but there is still minimal work so he isn't laid off yet. If he applies now, to supplement his checks, when he is laid off in December will that affect the amount he can collect? Will we have to do the same exact process this year? I cant remember all the steps but we did have to contact cantwell. Thank you for your time!

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Got fired. Have yet to receive a letter of termination.

I was verbally told by my manager and an HR rep that Friday was to be my last day. I would like to get swapped over to my spouse's insurance and would like to start applying for unemployment. However, as of right now, I have no documentation that I am unemployed, and as far as I can tell, I still have access to company systems through my phone and Microsoft Teams. I have emailed the HR Rep, but have yet to receive a response. Will this absence of an official termination notice have any impact on my ability to apply for unemployment?

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Pending since June

Ready and willing to give all information needed for assistance.

Facts (in trying to follow a few threads of help yourself advice)

  1. Quit due to husband’s job out of town. (Specific drop down : my spouse or domestic partner took a new job and I followed) Final FT day June 15. (Having given notice 4/10) Applied June 17.

  2. Pending issues tab says “adjudication in progress” since 7/4

  3. I emailed 7/10 confirming there was nothing else they needed from me. They responded 8/12 saying I had responded to all fact finding but there is no timeframe on decision making so please keep filing weekly.

  4. If I go to “upload a document” it has “pending issues” “separation from job” as the only selection option.

Where this gets complicated? I was my company’s executive reporting directly to the board. I agreed to stay on PT consulting hourly while they initiated a replacement search. My pay was reduced by well over 25% from FT and I have noted my hours worked and pay in every weekly claim. In this role, I also had close interaction with our state representative so would love to avoid involving her if possible but understand if that’s my best/only recourse.

I’m hitting the point of bills becoming difficult and would love to find resolve if you have any additional steps/assistance to offer.

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Pending since September 7th

Hello,

I am hopeful someone here might be able to give me some clarity what I need to do next.

This is the first time I have filed for unemployment, I was laid off Aug23rd (technically let go on Tuesday, 20th but informed me that my last day of employment would be the 23rd. )

So I filled to the best of my ability and as honest as possible, I informed them I co own a LLC, and that it has not made any money yet.

The first week Aug 31th was flag "Excess Hours" - Assuming waiting week?

Then the week of the Sep 7th forward, are just "Pending"

|| || |Issue(s) pending since 9/10/2024 - Your claim requires more research. We have not decided yet whether you'll receive benefits. If you already responded to our request for information, you don’t need to contact us. We will contact you if we need more information.|

I filled out all the requests for information as soon as they came in to the best of my ability.

I have no information other than it says under "pending issues" it says "Adjudication in progress"

Not sure, if I am doing everything right... but dang I am trying my best to follow the process.

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting First week back from extended vacation - UI benefits denied but no reason received yet. Do I start the appeal process now?

I was traveling from Feb-May 2024. I continued to fill out my claims as "Did not search" and "Was not able & available". As expected, I was denied benefits.

Now, my first full week back I marked Able & available and completed my job search tasks, but was still denied benefits. I assume this might just be a continue-on effect due to 11 weeks of denials.

So, do I appeal this decision? It doesn't have a reason listed for the denial.

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting How do I know if I am just not going to get paid?

Hello, I’ve been unemployed since march and I know for a fact my claim was approved. I called a few weeks back and they confirmed it. But nothing online indicates this I have not received anything in the mail either. I’m getting very worried, I spent all my extra money to move and cover this last months rent with all my extra savings as I lived at my last job. And now I’m worried about potentially being evicted. I was advised to not do any side jobs like Uber as it can mess with the process. But here I am now almost 9 weeks without any word, I can’t get anyone on the phone. Should I accept defeat?

Employer fighting claim - have til 6/24 to submit rebuttal

u/SoThenIThought_. Thank you for all the hard work you've put in over the years on this Reddit community.  I've been reading so much of your posts and I'm still a little unsure about the process so I'm hoping for your help!

I was fired for unsubstantiated "misconduct" on April 27th (even thought that's not the term they used).  I filed for unemployment that same day.  Within the first week, I was asked for and provided a written statement with more info about my understanding of what happened.  My claim has been pending since then.  Today I received a response with a summary of what my employer is claiming and asking if I'd like to provide a rebuttal.  OF COURSE I do!   But... before I go sticking my foot in my mouth, I thought I'd reach out to you for some guidance.  I typed up an initial response and think I did a good job of sticking to the facts, but I know I can lean it down further and also reference the laws in there somewhere.

I'm not sure of all the information you need from me to help me out, but happy to provide whatever you need.  Should I do that here?  A private message?

I will say that my previous employer is claiming I did something that I did not do (moving client appointments from one persons schedule to my own).  They say they have video proof but would not even give me an example let alone show me the proof.  I know they don't have it because it didn't happen.  I have no proof that I didn't do it because... well, why would I?  I asked HR for an official letter of termination and reason for separation and they gave a generic answer saying I engaged in action that did not align with their procedures and expectations.  They also provided my entire personnel file per my request - which just shows I had zero issues, zero write ups in the 10+ years I was employed there.

Again, happy to provide more info, including the actual verbiage in the termination letter and employers response to Unemployment. Could you help me navigate my response so I don't F it up?

Waiting on OP to Respond to finish initial Troubleshooting Quit- Pending Adjudication - Separation Document

Hello,

My UI claim has been paid for the last 5 weeks while still in adjudication. I am wondering what I can do to escalate & ensure I don't have to pay it back.... Upload a document states "Separation from a job".

My employer was unable to accommodate my need for leave. I gave 1 months notice to employer on May 3, was paid by employer for my "notice" period (May 31), then on state PFMLA until July 6. Claimed UI starting July 7th, I was able to work starting that date.

Questionnaire answered 7/26/2024:

  • Did your employer give you the option to resign rather than be fired?- NO
  • Did you give your employer a resignation letter or notice that you were quitting? YES
  • Did your employer allow you to work through your entire notice period? NO
  • Did your employer pay you for your notice period? (i.e. your employer would not let you work through your notice period, but paid you for the time instead.) YES
  • Why did you quit your job? Personal Medical Reasons
  • What is or was the nature of your illness or disability? PTSD, panic attacks, depression, severe anxiety.
  • How did it prevent you from doing your job? I was unable to sleep, pay attention, or complete my job without having a panic attacks.
  • Did a medical provider advise you to quit your job? YES
  • Did you tell your employer about your medical concerns? YES
  • Did you request a leave of absence from your employer? YES
  • Did your employer approve your request for a leave of absence? NO
  • Did your employer offer any light duty work or any other work that you could do? NO
  • Possible Overpayment Notification: I quit my job due to a severe medical condition. As a director, I held a key role and was not able to take the necessary leave.

I attached my approved PFMLA claim letter to the inquiry.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Am confused if I won the appeal or not, can someone enlighten me kindly?

Recently I had my first hearing for unemployment benefits appeal, the second one was days back but it was rescheduled for early next month so that we can get an interpreter. Now I logged into my account and it shows I have been paid but there’s no money in my account. Does it mean I won the first appeal?
