In n Out for QPR. Shake Shack for taste, but man is that expensive.

I don’t get the appeal of Shake Shack. To me, the burger itself is fine, but it’s got a boring, untoasted bun and nothing else really special about it.

Shake Shack is mediocre and, if I'm being completely honest, so is In n Out. I know I'm going to get murdered on the latter, but I've tried it multiple times when I've gone out west and it's never come close to the hype. What am I missing?

Its the cheapest, freshest burger. I don't think the taste is particularly better than other places, but its cheap.

Yeah, a lot of people mistake the hype for In N' Out as it being the best tasting thing out there. It's not, but the simplicity, freshness, and quality of the ingredients makes the difference for me. If I'm going to In N' Out, it's because I want to eat a hamburger that doesn't taste like everything was frozen a few hours ago.

Also, I think a lot of people "eat it wrong" -- for lack of a better term. Like, some chucklefuck from back east will order In N' Out in a bag and eat it twenty minutes later....that's just not the way to do it.

If you're ordering drive-thru? You get that shit in a box with a lid & then stop somewhere nearby to eat. Or at least race home & eat it right away.

Not as good as it used to be....but in terms of bang for your buck it's still hard to beat a 3x3 & and and order of fries (yeah, the fries are an acquired taste). And they at least pay their employees a little better than most fast food places, so that's nice.

Okay, that I can understand. The way people were talking was the it was the best burger around, this was before 5 Guys expanded outside Virginia.

I live not too far from the original 5 Guys and they expanded locally much earlier than their nationwide push (obviously) so that's the benchmark I was using. I definitely get they're at different price points but it seemed like everyone that it was also the best tasting burger and I just couldn't get in board.

I can get two double doubles for the price or maybe $2 more of a jack in the box burger combo. Its not really that close price wise.

It’s definitely not the best burger but it’s the best value in the country hands down. Never takes forever never taste bad just bang average every single time for $4. Best value by far imo

You have to get the burger animal style. Even if you replace the bun with a lettuce wrap it’s still delicious

I've done that, still doesn't really do much for me.
