I like the Whataburgers by me in Louisiana and had some in Texas too. But I was visiting a friend in Scottsdale, AZ one time and ate at a Whataburger over there and it sucked, and they didn't even have the sweet & spicy burger available. So I think there's some variance by location.

You went there once… so who knows. I grew up in AZ and whataburger was all over and was fantastic…

But Scottsdale sucks.

I second this nomination

You texans hype this place up so much. It was incredibly disappointing when I tried it. It reminded me of school cafeteria burgers. The P. Terrys place had a much better burger.

This was my experience with in n out. I really didn't enjoy it and couldn't understand the hype at all. But I love Whataburger.

It's because Californians on this sub are obsessed with the fact that in n out costs about what most other burgers cost around the rest of the country so they hype it up because it only costs them a normal price for a burger thats decent but nothing standoutish

Kinda like I felt when I had in n out the first time, underwhelmed

Same experience. Over hyped. Over priced. Fast food isn't worth it anymore in general tho.

Agreed, The bbq burger i got wasn't terrible but it was basically burger king level lol

Is this Austin? Mighty Fine and Hopdoddy (while more expensive) are both very worth the price and truly amazing

Hell yeah. Blows all of these out of the water.

I live in Texas, so I'm required by law to like Whataburger. That being said, it varies in quality WILDLY from location to location. I pretty much only eat their breakfast anymore.

I haven’t had one in over 10yrs since I moved but this is my vote

Whataburger fell off hard since pre 2010

I was a shift manager at Whataburger in 2014 and it was still good then. Could be a local problem.

Well that’s a possibility I graduated and stopped eating it as much as I moved away but I had it recently several times and idk. Seems different. Maybe I just got older

Fair. Their beef is generally good and we always seasoned them well, but the menu options are all on the heavy side. The patties are already large and every sandwich is either a double or a triple.

If I took my shift meal, I usually would order a Jr or single-patty version of one of the specials. I loved the patty-melt when I was younger, though

Nah it just has become more of a "which location you go to" chain nowadays.

I tried it in a suburb of Dallas one time and it didn't seem like anything particularly special.

We just got one of those last year. It's OK? Like the grilled cheese well enough. Hate ordering from the kiosk. "Wanna add this? How about this? One of these?". No just let me put in an order for two danged burgers already.

u/00Teonis 10d ago

Weird, none of the Whataburgers in Texas have kiosks. What state are you in?

When I lived in west Texas they had a burger with spicy chilis on it that was amazing for a fast food place. It's been 12 years since I lived there and I still think about it sometimes. I think it was called a monterey melt.

That is a good burger. Haven't had one in years so I'd forgotten about them.

Whataburger is amazing and their honey butter is insane. A must go to anytime I’m in a state that has one

Not the ones in kansas city. Actually the worst ive had was in galveston texas, never had such a dry tasteless burger before or since.

How is Whataburger in Colorado? If anyone knows

0

u/RozeRiot 10d ago

Absolute trash. Just Burger King but more expensive

They're mid, remind me of a basic Carls je/Hardee's burger.
