Fr? Never been. Do the fries compare to five guys? Are the shakes at least Red Robin level?

The fries are no where near as good as five guys but the burgers are solid

I'm not sure if the Shake Shack I've gone to a couple times just sucks, but Ive never been impressed despite their steeper prices.

Sandwiches are maybe a smidgen better than your run of the mill fast food and their fries are awful. 5 Guys runs circles around them in terms of taste.

Agreed. Shake Shack has an added smoke flavor that instantly draws you in, and is definitely quite good, but then upon returning makes it very samey and you realize it overpowers the burger. For that reason I would never invest in them; people will be over them soon and I already saw that happen in NYC. Five guys is just a solid burger with no frills like one you might make at home, and it's the one to beat imo.

Shack is still really popular in NYC. Hard to find one at any given time that isn’t busy.

Their shakes are underrated. Best of any big chain burger place.

The five guys burger itself is great but the deflated bun is kind of disappointing. The fries are world class

Shake Shack is greasy and the fries are awful.

(fun fact: they actually knew the fries sucked when they started. they ran out of time to figure out fries for the first restaurants. they tried to bring in good fries later, but their little cult following rebelled and they intentionally went back to cafeteria fries)

The shakes are really good at Shake Shack. The $ is crazy, but I still get them now and then. I think they were $9 last time I went?
