I was investigating how the "puppet string" effect that happens when you use the Needolin on haunted enemies works, and it turns out it's quite interesting! The game calculates the angle of the string based off of the angle between the room you're currently in and a sort of anchor point on the map-- technically a room, just one with no graphics so it doesn't show up on there. So, I did the obvious thing and added a graphic to them to see where it was.

The one used in Acts 1/2 is right at the top of the Cradle, near where GMS is-- unsurprising, since she's the source of the silk. The one used in Act 3, though... well. Turns out that one actually went off the map's borders, so I had to do some math to figure out how it would look if the map was bigger before doing a sort of mock-up.

SamusHunter, a very reliable Nintendo leaker, teased 2 days ago two pieces of information that would be arriving very soon: an announcement (not a game) about donkey kong and Silksong.

The first of these has just come true, with the arrival of a live event about the Donkey Kong area at Nintendo World.
I know that the wait is long and that many people are desperate about Silksong, but this is probably the most serious leak there's ever been around the game, and we can really expect new information over the next few weeks.

As always, as long as nothing is official, we shouldn't get too excited, but this is really serious.

Credit to the Primacon discord server for discovering the proof, (A Twitter user showed the code a few hours ago, but many thought it was fake as the change was not visible in the basic source code). Many members contributed (when I arrived, uwos and meow were discussing the news), I just showed two comments that summarized the findings.

The last change was in November 2024; we know of this as the Twitter user was tracking the code, so all changes were shown. Time appears to be 6:38, presumably 24-hour time as PM or AM is not mentioned, and presumably UTC time as the full code is 2025-05-22T06:38:45.9150177Z, the Z means Zulu according to my research and uwos on the discord. 6:38 AM UTC converted to Adelaide time is 4:08 PM, which is during Team Cherry's work hours. They very likely did this, as that is 2:38 AM Washington time, where Xbox is located, and is early for all other US time zones.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The store page was last "updated" earlier this year when the phone number of TC got added, but this wasn't tracked in this. This implies that the change is not some non-direct change (Leth adds the info, it automatically gets added to the page) and is a direct edit, which is hidden as we cannot notice anything new.

In the game files, there is a sprite of Widow with her mask still on and about to be removed. This possibly means that originaly we were also gonna see the moment she had the pins forced into her spine and her mask removed in the memory once we defeated her.

I uploaded all Hollow Knight sprites in the past (link here), and now I also extracted all Hollow Knight: Silksong sprites. They are all organized and renamed for easier searching.

The folder has all the sprites organized into folders for easier navigation. Furthermore, I renamed almost all the sprites with nonsensical names (such as atlas0 #011015.png) to their actual names. I still kept their file name as well, but the real name is listed first, so you'll have files like "Aknid - atlas2 #93646.png".

I hope this sprite folder will be useful for artists as reference material, for animators who want to try animating the sprites, or for people who are just curious what the sprites look like outside of the game.

I will also keep updating this folder whenever there's a game update, so it should have all sprites even in the future.

In the game files, there are multiple sprites labelled as "First weaver", most likely representing Grand Mother Silk's multiple failed attempts before sucessfully creating the Weavers.

I guess it was changed because it somehow makes her look even less of a bug than she does now!

I was going through the sprites for the Red Memory segment, and it appears as though there are way more sprites for Vespa than we see in the final game. It seems that there might have been a boss fight with Vespa planned, or that the cutscene we see of Hornet sparing with her was longer.

Not a flawless leaker, but not a bullshitter either. He has gotten plenty of stuff right, but also plenty of stuff wrong. Nice to have this as a small boost to that Xbox showcase hopium (Expectations raised from 90% chance to 91%)

EDIT: I found the clip names of the other two fake death animations and made a post showing them off.

Today I serve you an extra special (and tired) Trobbiopost for our troupe.

Tormented Trobbio has sprites for playing dead, which is something he never does. The only one of the animations I could find a clip for is this one of him fanning himself (It's called "Death Fan" and has ID 3 iirc). Normal Trobbio does this when hornet's far away enough from his "corpse", though it's hard to get a good look at it before flops back down.
