News Claremont city manager resigns after being in the position for less than a year.
The city manager for Claremont has resigned after being in the job less than 1 year. Her predecessor was fired by the city council.
Claremont has openings for a full time
Finance Director
Superintendent of Parks and Recreation/Community Center
Chief Building Inspector
Chief Health Inspector
Library Director
Deputy Building Inspector
Deputy Health Inspector
Chief Admin Secretary for city offices
Police officers
DPW Workers
This only includes full time staff and the city has numerous openings for part time too. As you can see the city now has no city manager, no health inspectors, no building inspectors, no library directors, and no director for the parks and recreation department. The city is also facing a mass resignation of staff members from the school district at the end of this school year in a couple weeks.
Is this happening in any other communities in the state?

Londonderry NH Market Basket change to payment methods?
I noticed recently that the payment terminals (all of them from what I can see) have recently been altered to not accept chip transactions with inserted cards. The cards can be inserted, but it appears the slot has been physically altered as the card is not held.
I've also noticed that the cashiers all seem to have a standard script about tapping the cards. I've gotten one or two of them to rerun the transaction as credit rather than debit, but they seem to be trying to force tap to pay and forcing the entry of PINs.
I asked one of the manager staff about it and at first she claimed that the slots "on a couple" of the registers had simply worn out, but when I pointed out that it was every register, she changed and said that they prefer customers to tap first. I asked if they had physically altered the terminals and she got angry and told me if I didn't like it I could shop elsewhere.
Has anyone else noticed this here or at other Market Baskets? I'm not angry and I suppose it is their right to handle payments in the way they want but I really don't like the idea of entering my PIN when I don't have to, especially to a terminal that appears to have been physically altered.

Discussion Needing a place to move to in an emergency. (NH)
So our house was sold due to my grandfather and grandmother having unpaid bills, and my gram past away last year so it’s just been me and my grandfather and the house was finally sold this year, my grandfather found himself a 1 bedroom apartment but I’m stuck finding my own place, sadly that hasn’t gone well. I had friends that said I could stay with them but just today 5/31 they said they couldn’t let me stay with them, so now I got 5 days to find a place to live and my cat, she’s box trained and has no problems with that, she’s a senior cat as well being 14 years old, I have her vet papers and she’s up to date on her shots and vaccinations. I don’t have a lot but I have about a 1 bedroom of stuff mostly packed, I just need somewhere stay and rent a single room for roughly 2-6 months to get money and get myself situated.

Hillsborough county PCPs?
My PCP retired last month. Anyone have any recommendations for a good PCP in the area? I’d especially love recommendations from other folks with chronic pain as I’m sure we’ve all had issues with doctors not believing us/taking us seriously (I don’t need a specialist). Thank you!

Best and cheapest churches for very small wedding
Hi! I am recently engaged and my fiance and I both live in New Hampshire. We both don't have much close family or friends so we may have 10 guests at our wedding. We would love to have the ceremony in a church but keep finding very expensive options, ($1,000+). Does anyone know of any cheaper options? We just need a church for a short ceremony and will probably do a cook out with family elsewhere afterwards.

Dan O’Brien Kia (North Hampton) vs McFarland Kia
Does anyone have experience with McFarland, the company that appears to have bought out the Dan O’Brien Kia in North Hampton?
I had an awful experience when it was Dan O’Brien, then all the scam lawsuits shut them down. McFarland has a car I’m interested in but I’ve been hesitant to inquire about it. I don’t want to waste my energy or time out there if it’s the same story/employees just with a different name.

Discussion Fantasy football
Anyone in Southern Carroll county (I'm in ossipee) or surrounding areas interested in starting a fantasy league this year with a live draft or does anyone have a league with an opening? Not looking to join any high roller leagues but I'd spend up to 250 on a buy-in. Lmk if you have something or have any interest in starting something. Thanks. 🫡

Ask NH Good resources to find apartments?
There have to be better places to find apartments here than Craigslist, where it's all scammers, slumords, and weirdos. Zillow is a little outside of my price range, Roomies hasn't yielded anything, and I'm off all social media so finding anything through those channels is out.
For apartment hunters, what's worked for you? I work in Portsmouth and would prefer to remain in the area. Thank you for the help.

Weather app showing down to 34° tonight, where are all the frost advisories? What are your plans to protect the garden?
Last Thursday when the weather was predicted to hit 38°, there was frost advisories all over. On WMUR, weather channel app, etc. Now my weather channel app is showing 34° as the low for tonight, and I can't find a single person in the state talking about a frost advisory! Do people plan on covering their plants tonight? I have 58 tomato plants all with 10 foot stakes already installed, I will have to take out all the stakes in order to cover the plants. Looking at a lot of labor. Is anyone else showing a low of 34° in their area?
