E Bikes

Just venting but I am sick and tired of these dumbass kids and these e bikes. I just almost got smashed by one and saw another one riding his down Highlands Drive in the wrong direction.

I’m sick and tired of car drivers complaining about kids on bikes that weigh 1/50 as much

Absolute $h!t take (and ignorant beyond belief) regarding what we are getting at here.

  1. This is the U.S. and as much as you may edge yourself to the idea of other places in the world who bike/e-bike, we simply are not that. Especially in the Highlands.

  2. We are discussing kids who are not patented, who are given quite fast bikes, that are not taught the rules of the road in the U.S. and the fact that my 6000lb truck can and will squish them like a bug when they fly out in front of me when I have every right to be traveling unobstructed in my lane of traffic while following the rules.

Besides the fact that these kids are also oblivious to their mortality, they do wheelies while riding down busy lanes of traffic (sometimes in the opposite lane) which I'm fairly certain kids and adults in countries where e-bikes/bicycle commuting is more common, do not do. This is likely because it's more common where they live to bike, and others understand that bikes pop out of nowhere more frequently. Again, the U.S. isn't that kind of place. Gotta get over that.

The issue is that you don’t follow the rules. You exceed the speed limit constantly. You often don’t stop at stop signs. You roll through reds when turning right. A kid doing the same on a little ebike doesn’t pose the same danger so he shouldn’t be held to the same standard. If they want to endanger themselves, they are allowed to. You driving a much more dangerous truck  for vanity reasons is a bit different

You're an assumptive little person, aren't ya? I do none of those things, so watch your phrasing. I even have a drive cam in my vehicle all of these kids doing exactly what's been stated all of the time. So, regardless of what OTHERS do, these kids don't have any business on out roads in the first place. And you just stated all of the reasons as to why. So, you played yourself.

Some would say a cybertruck or GMC Denali has no business on the road. In fact, most countries do. These kids are playing in a rigged game and if you kill them it will be your fault, not theirs

Again, welcome to the U.S.

You better get used to where you live.

And it won't. As a lawyer, I can tell you that these kids riding on streets without a driver's license where they have no business being is not going to be the fault of the driver who is following the rules.

You're just all around wrong on this. And if you're a parent who gave their kids one of these machines, then you are the problem. As a driver, I'd file a civil suit against the parents for negligence.
