Rules have been updated -- please take a moment to read them.

Hello everyone,

As we're getting to the home stretch before Hulaween, everyone is getting more excited -- and for some, more anxious -- as we get closer to going back home. In response to a surge in posts recently, we have updated the subreddit rules to add and clarify a few things. Please take a moment to read them. You can also find these rules in the sub's info/about section:

1. Be kind
Open dialogue and debate is encouraged here. Negative opinions are fine, just don't make it personal. Hostile activity, trolling, or insults are not welcome here. All members must follow general rules of Reddiquette, so have a good time and don't be a dick.

2. Use the search, wiki, FAQ, and flair filters before posting
There are many commonly asked questions here. Please use the search, wiki, FAQ, and post flair filters to find answers to your question(s) before posting.

3. No ticket sales
Buying, selling, or trading tickets is not allowed. For ticket sales, use r/HulaweenTickets

4. No self-promotion, marketing, or ambassador posts
Ambassador posts; or posts/comments involving any marketing or self-advertising without prior approval from the mods will be removed.

5. Discussing illegal activities
Don't incriminate yourself or others - cops read Reddit too! Harm reduction is an important topic, but discussing drugs or other illegal activities is not permitted here. This includes but is not limited to: asking about security measures, asking how to sneak in or asking how to buy drugs.

6. Personal information
Selfies are fine, but do not post or comment with someone's personal information, or post links to personal information e.g. names, email, address, phone number, or other unique identifiers. This includes screenshots of social media pages where such information is still legible.

7. Low-effort and off-topic posts
Low-effort posts or posts unrelated to Suwannee Hulaween will be removed.

8. No duplicate posts
Duplicate posts will be removed. Please check the sub before posting lineups, schedules, or other popular announcements to make sure it has not already been posted.

9. No NSFW/18+
Not everyone on this sub is an adult. Posts with content that is considered NSFW/18+ are not permitted here.

First Year Day Passes?

My wife and I have been out of the festival scene for so long. We’re super excited to reenter. We’re gonna do a trial run w/ a day pass. I’ve read day passes do exist here, but in small quantities, are only for Sunday, and are not released until right before the festival. Does anyone have experience with this? Can you give me a rundown of where to look and when to start looking? Any other tips/info would be super helpful. ✌️

This will be my first camping festival and first Hula. I’ve been making a lot of these Halloween themed bracelets to hand out! Very excited.

If you can't decide if you're gonna go or not, this is your sign to full send it

Hey y'all! I've seen a few posts on this sub recently where people are asking whether or whether not to go solo. I wanted to share my own experience soloing Hula as a 22f.

Hulaween 2024 was my first ever festival. I hopped on a plane & flew across the country to solo the fest. I was also very on the fence, and then I said something along the lines of "fuck it, we ball" and the rest is history. I had the most amazing time. I'm not super confident, I'm not super outgoing. The Hula community is just the best. You feel part of the family the minute you arrive. Everyone is so, so kind. I felt so free and unabashedly myself. I've went to multiple other fests / shows now. The whole community has brought so much joy to my life, and Hula is to thank for that! Hula was my first fest and it's still my favorite. To clear up your concerns:

  • You will make friends.
  • You will have a good time.
  • You will get there and know you made the right choice.

To all my friends on the fence, (so long as you have the means) full send it!!

First Year Idk what I’m doing

I’m in my early forties, f, and want to do this solo. Plans and life changes, but I’m sick of holding off until someone can go with me. This is a bucket list item for me. Are there any forums for campers who go solo or are looking to meet up with like minded people. It will be my first bigger festival relatively on my own and I just want to enjoy. I’m thinking mid tier vip- I think it’s wizard? Thanks in advance! Also have the car question, can I not camp out of my car?

Question Early arrival question

Hey guys this will be my first year sending hula and my girl and I are looking to do GA glamping (wizard package i believe). Can we still purchase early arrival passes and show up on Tuesday with a glamping package? Or do we have to wait until Thursday

First Hula - went with glamping. Has anyone done it before? Cant find pics or any info about it really besides some general info about a tent.

Is there food to eat close or should we bring as much as possible?

Keychain help!!

Hello you beautiful people! This will be my first year at hulaween this year and I am so excited! I’ve been to Bonnaroo 7 times, but I’m changing it up this time.

That said, I always 3d print a bunch of Bonnaroo keychains to give out. I know the logos, imagery, etc to get some cool themed keychains. I’m wondering if there’s any recognizable hula symbols or logos or something that I could put on a keychain.

If anyone has a specific idea, be it for the fest, for a specific artist, or just art in general, if you sketch me a simple design with less than 5 colors, I can trace it and turn it into a 3d printed multicolor keychain and make sure you get one! Thanks for the help and can’t wait to meet everyone

Volunteering

Wondering if anyone that has applied to volunteer has heard back. I submitted an application on 5/2 and it said they would get back to me in 3-5 days. This is my first time trying to volunteer and I'm not sure the usual timeline.

HYPE 🚂 Hulaween’s Owner and Talent Buyer interview with EDM.com

Just read this new Michael Berg interview on EDM.com and honestly it got me even more hyped for Hula this year!!

Love how intentional they are about protecting the feeling of Hula while still evolving the festival. The emphasis on Spirit Lake being the “true headliner,” extended sets over quick festival rotations, and creating actual immersive experiences instead of just stacking a lineup makes me proud this is an event I hit every year. You can tell they genuinely think about community and atmosphere first.

Also respect to them for actually lowering ticket prices this year when basically every other fest is going the opposite direction. I grabbed blind presale the second it dropped and this article made me feel even better about it.

ADA Camping Site

Who can tell me about the ADA Camping Site. I am sure the accessibility will be better. How about getting around to all the other sites and walking to the different areas. Who has stayed in ADA and regular sites and what did you think.

TIA

Kids at hula?

What age did you take your kid to hula and what was the experience like? If you’ve taken them multiple times what age would you say is best ? I want to go next year, my twins will be 1 year 7 months old. I feel like it’s kinda crazy but also 100% possible ?!! Also I am aware that bringing a kid to requires plans to be child centered :) if anyone here took their kids, and/or 1.5 year old please share how it went and tips/tricks if you’ve got em :)

TIA!

Camping Is it just porta potties & already established bath houses in the campground?

I’ve been to the park for a few different festivals now so I know it really well for smaller crowds but do they bring in additional showers/bathrooms or anything besides the dispersed porta-potties throughout the campground? I usually tent camp near the loop and use that shower house but if I don’t get a spot in there I would be a little lost at showers. I’m okay being full wook, bringing my own camp shower or just freezin my butt in the river if need be but just wonderin.
