FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION Arrowhead, can we please get a normal looking medium Siege Ready armor? I don't want to look like an aliexpress warrior cosplay

And it certainly does look to me like it doesn't fit the perk theme at all.

I mean the engine is long forgotten piece of tech

That's absolutely not an excuse to sit on their asses and do nothing. They also got like two decades of experience with it, who if anyone would be able to add that kind of functionality?

They got 2 decades of experience with it and can't even debug.

I genuinely don't understand this community sometimes. The fact that they have 2 decades of experience but they are constantly breaking the game with every update, some of which have been game breaking for multiple major patches (I'm looking at you, enemies phasing through buildings and terrain), should be the tip off that AH knows jack shit with what they are doing.

Hey, but I still play this broken game because it's fun regardless of being unplayable sometimes.

The bugs can be annoying but overall gameplay doesn't change. You get down, die, might notice an overwhelming glitch or bug but you cna just die and dive again to move on. It's mostly that high level missions take more than 10 minutes that make people get mad over game bugs or teammates or other things

Oh I am not saying this is a garbage game, but people really expect so much from a company that is obviously lost in development. I've long since stopped expecting anything from AH, they don't deserve it. You can only fail so many times before you lose the faith that was placed into you.

I am still enjoying the game from time to time with friends. The game itself is okay where it's at, more or less.

That's fair

Who are they employing to code this shit though, I don’t know the engine but I know how most work in some regard. You’d just set the armour and have a slot for the main chest piece where you open a second menu to pick the perks from. The perks won’t be baked into the armour they’ll just be mods that are coded to that armour set but they’ll have their own ID, that’s why multiple armours can have the same perk. It won’t be hard and I bet it could be done relatively easily, it’s just how spaghettified their code is, it could introduce bugs

I don’t know the engine

For anyone wondering, the engine is Autodesk Stingray, which was discontinued in 2018 at some point after Helldivers 2 began development using it.

Notably, the likes of Vermintide 2 and Darktide are also on this engine.

I definitely think AH are working uphill to integrate anything that isn't already developed or supported - which, given the creators of the engine don't support it anymore, means everything AH haven't already made.

I imagine that literally anything off the beaten path requires research and experimentation, and I think the track record of struggling to balance "introduce new content without bugs" and "go back and fix technical debt" and not having a stellar result on either case kinda backs that up.

This is my answer to most everything. They simply do not know how to do MANY of the things we ask. For the few things they DO know, they are just too stubborn to admit defeat and do it.

As an outsider swdev myself I can confidently say, transmog sounds like the #1 easiest to implement change ever. Not saying it definitely is, but it sure as hell sounds near trivial.
