Question/Debate Why are the left and and this sub siding with Russia regarding the war in Ukraine?

Probably gonna get downvoted to oblivion but I just need to know this.

I subscribed here a while back, but had to unsubscribe due to the amount of content I can only view as Russian propaganda. I live in Finland, and you know our common history with Russia which has left a big scar in the mentality of Finnish people. Not that we are russophobic, but the threat of an invasion is real and made my grandmother leave everything she had and move out of Karelia.

I would call myself anti-USA and definitely anticapitalist & antifascist. I know that Ukraine represents ’the west’ in a sense that the USA is backing them, but I don’t see how that’s such a bad thing when the other side is Russian government which is ALSO capitalist, even fascist I would say. Ask any country next to Russia and I promise you they’re backing Ukraine in this war. By this I don’t mean the US are by definition the good guys. I oppose bombing civilians no matter who does the bombing.

The left alliance in Finland is backing Ukraine in this fight as well. I know about AZOV and I oppose their views as much as the people here, but still. I don’t think they’re as big a problem as the Russian invasion.

I think siding with Russia is pushing people away from socialism, and I wonder why people on the left are siding with them. Thank you for reading, if you made it this far!

E: not my first post on reddit. I have no idea why I thought so.

Question/Debate Why Show Critical Support To The Taliban?

Firstly I understand that as Marxists our first and main goal is to remove Imperialism. From this point of view it makes complete sense to support them critically.

However, many also bring up the fact that Afghanistan will have a peaceful future (which is not true, the ex president has announced to put up a resistance with NATO backing in the Panjshir valley = more civil war).

Furthermore, the Taliban aren't the only ones we consider as "Taliban". Many of those who took Khabul were parts of different factions within Afghanistan. Now that the US is gone they will fight each other for power just like in 1992 = more fighting and civil war?

On top of this, the Taliban worked closely with Osama Bin Laden to help spread terrorism in parts of the world. Another point which I want to bring up is Opium. Opium skyrocketed when the Taliban was in power. Not only did they allow it to produced, they did nothing to stop it. Instead they just taxed local cartels and drug lords.

The obvious argument is the treatment of women etc etc which everyone has already spoken about.

Can someone address the points I have made above to help me understand and have a better stance on this topic. Thank you!

Oda.

Question/Debate Okay. Now a serious question.

In what cases does Juche support separatism?

  1. For example, if the state is in ongoing civil war, one of sides is proletarian, and some bourgeois nationalists want to secede to have their own capital. (Example: Menshevik Georgia from Russian empire)

I'm sure it won't be okay for the proletarian side to just say "we can't export revolution, they can't import revolution" and let separatists get their own state?

  1. A petty bourgeois movement decides to secede from fascist state, thus getting some human rights and weakening the "metropoly".

Well, it may be a stupid example, but Donetsk People's Republic from Ukraine. Of course, there's now imperialism everywhere, and the petty bourgeois movements would be controlled by one financial capital or another.

  1. Some other example when separatism is supported? Maybe something like IRA

I may want to pursue my Master's degree. I have a Major in Communication's.

Which university is worth it, even if your GPA is perhaps slightly low?

Question/Debate The aggression of the socialists

A few months ago I started to be part of an anarchist movement, I have always considered myself an anarcho-communist or in any case far left.

But can you explain to me why my acquaintances, openly Marxists or Socialists, call me "naive" or "deluded" simply because I believe in a more extreme political doctrine than theirs?

I mean as an anarchist I believe that everyone should unite for the good of the people, but they simply laugh at me because I have a different idea than theirs, I consider it a stupid and superficial behavior, so can you explain to me what problem Orthodox Marxists have in general?

Question/Debate Question: Does Tucker Carlson fit the definition of an anti-imperialist? Is Tucker Carlson still an imperialist for supporting capitalism?

Question: Does Tucker Carlson fit the definition of an anti-imperialist? Is Tucker Carlson still an imperialist for supporting capitalism?

Tucker promoted and supported anti-imperialists like the Grayzone on his famous TV show.

Tucker opposes US intervention with Iran and Syria. He is against US support for Ukraine.

But he still supports capitalism in the US. He is still an imperialist like John Bolton or neoconservatives that supports US intervention in Iran, Syria, Ukraine, and other countries?

Question/Debate Would radical modification of human body, that increases one's labour force, allow worker to create more value, and thus, raise the falling rate of profit?

I'm genuinely curious, and not sure who to ask. I won't be mad at anyone if I don't find a good point amongst the answers.

For the simplest example — what if we, instead of making workers use a machine, that doesn't produce value, connect the machine to worker's nervous system directly and make it part of his existence?

Instead of $100 worker and $1000 machine, adding $300 ingredients, creating $1000+$300+(1002)=$1500 worth of goods, can we get $1100 worker, adding $300 ingredients, and creating $300+(11002)=$2500 worth of goods?

If true, I'd expect a HUGE raise of political interest in making transhumanism mundane in the bourgeois propaganda from all sides, which will propose body modification even for cases when it's more efficient to use regular machines in terms of raw output.

But I don't see such yet (not that I cannot be blind to it, being quite isolated from mainstream media or not thinking well enough over what I do know). Perhaps my assumption is wrong? Or is it simply because technology is still far away from it?

Even if the extreme case of machine replacement is impossible, I don't see why it's impossible to make, say, a $300 worker, physically operating the same or lower amount of regular machines, who would add $300 surplus value. Labour qualification through education exists after all.

(All numbers, including the *2 surplus value coefficient, are arbitrary, of course, but I think it's enough to get what I mean).

Question/Debate What happened to Conservative Socialists?

The sub got removed? Tf?

Question/Debate Nah, it won't work.

The primitive case I've put up previously won't work, because both ways we produce certain amount of goods worth $100+300+1000+100 (competition with those who don't use cyborgs will ensure it), so the *2 coefficient will just decrease proportionally.

But there's a different case: changing the productive force of the worker, instead of just making the machine itself part of him. Then, it works pretty much like labour intensification, but with some additional spending (on modifications) and seemingly infinite.

It won't solve the overproduction, which is a source of crises and falling profit rates. You can't get more money from people who buy all these produced commodities. Even if it would allow individual capitals to have a higher rate of profit in short term, the laws of capitalism can't be fooled.

Question/Debate I’m an ex-member of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (Czech Republic). AMA

Edit: As I’m currently in a hospital and recovering from surgery, it might take me a couple of days to answer any further questions. I made this post while waiting for the surgery to pass time, so please be patient for now. I promise I will get back to you as soon as I can!

——

Hey everyone,

With the post about the decline of the Communist Party in the Czech Republic the other day, I remembered that I used to be a member of it until 2020, when there was a lot of talk about how to handle the regional elections, and the parliamentary election that turned out to be a complete disaster.

I have been pretty far up in the party before I was forced to leave; I was a full executive member of the local city party committee and the regional party committee, and one of the top candidates for the regional administration. I was also a candidate member of the central committee.

I have deep insight into the structure, organization and etiquette of the party back then.

So, if you’d like to ask absolutely anything, feel free to 😊

Question/Debate What's your opinion on antifa?

I've heard they are some kind of "same fanatics as fa" but I haven't heard any elaboration on this. Who are they?

UPD: oh, and also what's the Reddit admins' opinion? Maybe they are banned. Have to know before I start copypaste or linking to their resources, etc.

Question/Debate Can someone explain to me the exact stand of the Marxist Left on what is supposedly going on in Xinjiang?

I've noticed that there is a huge controversy around what the government of the PRC is doing in Xinjiang, with liberal media and mainstream claiming that China was supposedly doing some sort of Holocaust 2.0, while huge parts of the mainly ML(M) Left claiming that nothing was happening at all or that the executive organs of the PRC was only sending the Uighur people to 'schools'.

So, with all the controversy, what exactly is the objective truth regarding the supposed 'Uighur Genocide', as liberal media likes to call it.

Is it 'just schools' or is there more to it, like the discrimination of Uighur culture as 'terrorist', like the official laws and government statement regarding the facilities and events in Xinjiang.

I am interested in what my fellow European comrades have to say about this.

Please, if possible, deliver sources for your statements.

Question/Debate Question: Is the Wagner Group socialist? Is it an overall good force?

Question: Is the Wagner Group socialist? Is it a good force?

Ppl constantly claim Wagner Group is some N*zi/ fascist organization. I saw that even some MLs and socialists say that Wagner Group is bad and fascist. Is that true?

But I found out that Wagner Group supports anti-imperialist movements in Africa. Does that mean that Wagner Group is socialist or ML?

Question/Debate Another socialist subreddit gone woke...

r/socialistsmemes , previously known to have had connections to this place has gone woke recently. The owner purged off his moderation team and declared a massive removal of what he considers "queerphobic" content as well as insulting the very anti-revisionist communists by calling them "NazBols". I conversed with the owner and he outlined his disapproval of this subreddit and decided embrace a revisionist path of woke nonsense and banning any meme that is "queerphobic", meaning that you cannot post and make fun of NATO by posting a rainbow flag of NATO burning because that apparently is "insulting" to queer people despite the flag in question symbolizing a terrorist, fascist organization.

The counterrevolution took place between May 30th and June 1st, 2025. We have lost a place to post memes and diplomatic ties with the subreddit have been terminated as a result of this. This is a very sad day for us but also a sign of a counterrevolutionary offensive being carried out against us. We need a new hub to post memes and someone who is not woke and is loyal to Stalin and does not just go out and accuse Stalin falsely of "homophobia".
