General Discussion SPOILER ALERT Spoiler

I watched the episode that has been released today.

I’ll be frank, I’m not liking the production method and the way it has been filmed. The music being slotted over scenes. It’s like it’s trying to be an episode of Hollyoaks and I’m just not a fan.

An example, when Denise is taking the bus home, the music over it was just out of place for EastEnders and then with the compilation of everyone at the wedding etc… idk it just didn’t sit right with me.

Fate of character at end of episode… (Monday ep) Spoiler

Do we think Jordan is dead?

I’ve heard that Gray is coming back and the only way I can see that happening is for him to attend his child’s funeral.

I don’t think they’d let him out of prison to go to the hospital? Maybe I’m wrong.

We don’t see this kid for 4 years. Then when we do, he’s actually a good lil actor and then they KILL HIM!? What a waste !! I hope he’s not dead

Weird train background noises

When scenes get intense or sad, especially with ravi, there's always some loud train noise like there's a train right outside their house, why do they keep doing this???? Its so random and distracting

General Discussion Things you pretend just didn’t happen?

This show has made some pretty awful decisions at times in terms of writing and whilst there are some things that can’t really be retconned (e.g certain deaths) is there anything questionable about the current cast that was so out of character that you act like it never happened?

I’ll start with a common one that most people would agree with: Honey and Jay dating

I sometimes wonder how insanely long running soap cast members stay sane?

Not that it isn't enviably solid work and artistically fulfilling and what not .. but in an age of eight episode TV dramas that drop a series/season every three years the- classic soap format seems nuts.

You look at Steve McFadden or Adam Woodyatt and it's just hard for me to imagine playing the same role, all year round for decades. I wonder if it's hard for the lines not to blur between them and their characters when it's that constant and for that long.

Question Random question here

But a few weeks ago, when Zack and Barney were doing their gardening project thing, did anyone else get a major ick with him? Like whenever Vicki was around and Barney would try and explain his nerdy project to her, Zack would have this "Yeah, alright mate. That's enough" attitude as if he was embarrassed? Obviously no one is suprised but like... that's your son, you cocksnot!

Question Who is the most iconic EastEnders character of all time?

I’ve been debating this with friends and I’m curious what Reddit thinks.

Not necessarily the best character, but the one who most defines EastEnders and would be recognised instantly by the average person in the UK.

I’ve narrowed it down to these five, but please suggest any others who would get your vote.

Who gets your vote, and is there anyone I’ve left out who deserves to be here instead?

Question The Wedding

If Ross and Vicki’s wedding is still going on throughout the whole of next week, will this be the most episodes that are set on one singular day ever in the history of the show?

General Discussion Max (& Jack...?) and The Jackson's

Sooo...I probably knew this ages ago but Carol, Bianca's Mum, is Max & Jacks sister. I been watching EastEnders on and off since maybe Sonya and Jamie days (have visions of them on a swing, watched at youth club back in day lol) it's only since about 2023 I've been a full time viewer.

Anyways my question was/is...that Bianca is basically Max/Jacks niece. Did they ever interact. Did the Branning Kids interact with Bianca and her lot, like as a family unit. Kinda explains Lauren and Whitney and the betrayal of sleeping with Zac because they're Faaaaam-ily (kinda).

Did try search the sub in case anyone mentioned before. Quote big a couple families joined together there.

What were the scenes like.

Classic EastEnders Spoiler

6 - 21 Sept

Hi. How are you? It's been weeks of arrivals and departures (as a new executive producer took over). To recap; Sam gave birth to a baby boy (never heard so much screaming that LOUD). Lucy and Peter cheated on their exams results, then Lucy left in a huff, also Jane found out about that Lucy was lying about her baby miscarriage. Finally good riddance to Becca as she left the Square following an argument with Jean & threw Bradley's Ashes at Stacey.

This week:

  • As you can see, who remembers Peggy's line "Let it burn" as the drama is set to unfold in the Queen Vic in the run up of Peggy's departure from the Square.
  • It all starts as Ryan and Janine's hen do is in fall swing, before getting married! Next episode, they get hitched, but will they? Meanwhile Phil continues to sink into oblivion as Peggy ignores his son's pleas as she prepares for the Vic party.
  • The next day mother and son have an emotional showdown and that's when the Vic is on fire as everyone is trapped, even Max, Vanessa, Stacey and little Lily fight to get out. Will Ryan save them? Well, yes, and that's when Stace tells him he's the father of Lily. As the Queen Vic will never be the same again, Peggy leaves after 16 years on the show full time.
  • Elsewhere after recent events, how will Pat cope without her best friend? The results of the recent paternity are revealed as to who the father is of Sam's baby (we all know it's Jack). Charlie's worry for his family leads to a heartbreaking confrontation. Shirley makes a brave decision. Ronnie has some life-changing news for Jack. George's christening doesn't go according to pan.
  • Finally Alfie and Kat return to Walford after 2 years away, and we say goodbye to Minty Peterson (as Cliff Parisi went off to star in new show Call the Midwife).

Michelle

I didnt watch eastenders in the 1990s other than a continuing grant mitchell series on YouTube and a few clips here and there but Michelle sounds incredibly unlikeable. Slept with her best friends scumbag ex husband and lied about her baby's father for years and years. She then slept with a minor after being groomed by a way older man herself. Sounds like a horrible individual
