The Thing is Sentry is very conventionally strong. He's limited to his own story and universe.
Prime on the other hand can interact with the 4th wall in ways we've never seen before. He can punch his way out of the 4th wall and his retcon punch allow him to literally rewrite the plot as he's living it.
Some major events and retcons in DC's lore are attributed to Prime's Retcon Punch, like Jason Todd's resurrection for example.
Even if Sentry, stat wise, was stronger, there would be nothing stopping prime from just saying "bro is now an orange" or something and rewriting the plot of the battle as he's living it to give himself the win.
Besides I can already tell Death Battle will compare the void with the Darkest Knight that Superboy-Prime fought before coming back recently because these two entities are definitely similar in scope, scale, power and concept, I feel like this battle will definitely give Prime an edge in experience that will help him figure out and defeat Sentry sooner.
To be fair, Prime doesn't have fine control (or really much control at all) over what ret-cons his punches actually produce. He can think "bro is now an orange" all he likes, but his punch is actually INCREDIBLY unlikely to actually do that. It has an equal chance of just making Sentry's cape red, or making it so Uncle Ben doesn't die this time, or making Thanos a decent guy. Superboy Prime would need to get REALLY lucky to land on the exact effects he needs to take out Sentry. Meanwhile, Sentry actually has a very clear and focused deliberate win-con, using his reality warping and energy manipulation to absorb and steal yellow sun radiation before it reaches Prime.
Prime is UNIQUELY vulnerable among supermen to depleting quickly without new sunlight to fuel him. The heroes of earth and the green lantern corp were able to use this against him to defeat him, with him weakening in mere minutes without access to yellow sunlight. He made his armour to counter this, but that armour lacks his own protections against reality warping, so Sentry could likely just wink it out of existence (Or drain the energy out of it). Add in that throwing the ret-con punches is very energy intensive for Prime (He literally died from the effort of throwing his strongest one against the darkest knight), then he probably only gets one or two shots with it while Sentry is cutting him off from the yellow sun before he's spent. As I said earlier, the chances of him actually getting the changes he needs to take Sentry out are INCREDIBLY low, so he will fail on most occasions and be left completely drained and easy pickings for Sentry.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Bob has a really solid win-con against Prime here.

Is Superboy prime not like, one of the most cracked characters in DC? Why do they have to do my man Sentry like this?
