He was reading a book on the iPad in the living room. But he wanted to read a physical copy of the book in his bedroom and the "book truck" needed to deliver it to him. I'm not sure what the "book truck" is, but it sounds wonderful.

UPS truck? Or when I was in elementary school we had a bookmobile from the library come.

Yes I think he means a courier truck, we've been having lots of things delivered lately due to the lockdown here. Thought I could save money whilst the libraries are shut buy using ebooks. Toddler not impressed with my frugality.

you could get one of those e-readers that only has books for you on there if you ever wanted to give it another go

Our library system has been doing contactless pickup during lockdown, and also home delivery/pickup for those who need it. We legit have library book trucks and it's awesome!

That's fab. The kids and I miss our trips to the library. Fingers crossed it will all be safe again soon.

we had a whole "library on wheels", basically a bus but all the seats were taken out and in their place there were bookshelves lining the walls. I'm still amazed how the books didn't fall out of the shelves during the drive.

When I was a child you could request a book from the local library that was currently check out. When the book was returned to the library they would ship it to the person who requested it. Getting books in the mail addressed to ME- was one of the most exciting things of my early childhood. (And moving to a new state, whose library didn't ship books was a huge disappointment.)

That's wonderful, what a lovely idea. Our children love going to the library. I used to love it too. I would often head to the library on town after school. Something about the peace and quiet, the endless possibilities of books and having your very own library card.
