Another update; I bought the pattern! I don’t have the right yarn in my stash for a big one but l am working on a teeny one.

I keep telling myself I'm going to use it for stuffing but the bag just keeps getting fuller and fuller! 😂

She's really pretty when finished, but this is the only yarn I've worked with that is truly "feel" not "see"

If you haven't heard yet, Duo (Duolingo's Mascot) got hit by a cybertruck. I just needed to recreate the scene in crochet

Trying the “pin it and check” method this time since I’m never really happy with the faces. Really time consuming but I like that I can check and adjust before finalizing.

I finally finished this popular mushroom guy and while taking photos (where my cat constantly photobombs it 😂), I realized I can edit this to a comic punny panel but apologies in advance for the cringefest lines I couldn't think of any as I finished this before eating breakfast 😂 I'm also proud of my cat, he did well for his first paid acting gig.

This mushroom guy is from Critter Stitch OG pattern I bought from etsy, hook size: 1.75 mm, yarn: thin chenille yarn. Took only one skein for the body and almost half skein for the mushroom cap. Took me three days to finish 🤧

Not going to lie, as much as this sucks, I keep laughing thinking about how whoever did this must have reacted when they opened the package they stole and found… safety eyes for amigurumi lol. Serves them right for doing this to my mailbox!

It's not the fault of the pattern at all, I've used this pattern several times, and this has never happened. I made mistakes, but I love him and I will not be changing him. He is my chubby, flat headed boi, and is going to make some kid very happy come the holidays.

Also, the book comes with tons of accessories to give them, or I can improvise my own. But I'm struggling to decide what he needs. If you have any thoughts, I'd be happy to hear!

I have considered the little axolotl style frills around the face, a friend suggested dressing him up as a little knight with a sword and helmet, I could give him a little cloak, flower or mushroom hat, hair, ears, I'm not really sure.

Would love to hear some ideas on what to dress this dopey little guy up as!

(Anyone wondering, the pattern is from the book "Crochet Impkins" by Megan Lapp. Highly recommend, really good book! The results usually look a lot better when you actually follow the pattern and don't try and increase the size without thinking it through!)
