Mod Post Banner

Hello fellow Scribes,

In an effort to make this place a bit more homely, I'm looking at creating a banner. It's been suggested that we make it from folk who're happy to have their Homebrews made into part of a collage. If you'd like to be part of it, post a picture as a comment to this post! Please don't use Imgur as it's banned in the UK, so I won't see it.

Edit: Submissions closed. Thanks to all those who submitted their stuff! A V1.0 of the banner should be up by the end of the week!

The purpose of this Subreddit and posting guidelines

Hi Scribes,

We've had some measure of success with this sub, but it seems that people are unclear as to what it's all about. The point of this sub is to allow people to post about their Homebrew Chapters/Regiments/Craftworlds/Kill Teams/Whatever and get feedback from other Scribes, maybe improving them or noticing things that the original Scribe didn't anticipate. It was inspired by the Bolter & Chainsword forums' sub-forum where you create an Index Astartes/Xenos/Chaos/etc. for 'Your Dudes' and seeing what other forum users think about it.

I've noticed that there's been a bit of 'crunch' coming in (rules and anything related to the actual games), and thought I'd reiterate Rule 1 - This sub is for fluff/lore surrounding your dudes. Luckily, u/MagicJuggler has created r/homebrewhammer where you can talk about the 'crunch' side of this hobby, including creating custom Codices!

I understand that some people might have an idea for a homebrew, but aren't 100% sure if it's good and want to hash it out with others, but I ask that when you post about it, make sure it's something other than 'I want to create an Iron Hands successor, what should I do?' as a complete post. Using the Iron Hands Successor idea, I'd like it to be much more along the lines of:

'I have an Iron Hands Successor idea, where they venerate the Emperor as Omnissiah. Their fighting style is more based upon the White Scars, and their home planet is a Mad Max-style place where roving gangs kill each other for resources. Their armour is dull steel and bronze, hitting an Iron Warriors vibe, and their companies are named after different parts of a machine. Would this work and what should I think about?'

Alternatively, you could have a fully formed idea and be soliciting feedback to see what you've missed:

'I have an Iron Hands Successor chapter called the Brazen Fists, that worship the Emperor in his Omnissiah aspect, and have a tight relationship with their local Forge World, that draws some suspicion from the Inquisition, but so far they've avoided being censured as AdMech flunkies rather than Emperor-fearing Astartes.

Their home planet of Gibsonia is a post-apocalypse hellscape, where bandit tribes roam from place to place on giant land trains, warring with other tribes to secure the resources in an area, where they can stay for a generation (or longer, depending upon the resources) and then they move on. Because of this, the chapter has developed a 'lightning strike' battle doctrine, with fast moving bikes and speeders forming the vanguard, backed up by tanks that drop in the second wave.

Their Chapter Master, called 'The Primus', is as much machine as he is man, clad in an ancient Techmarine variant of the Saturnine Terminator armour, the dull steel and bronze chapter colours evident. The chapter's leadership are all former Techmarines, and indeed any Brother wishing to ascend to such a role must undergo the Techmarine training, which can last for years.

Given this, they have a higher proportion of vehicles than other chapters, including some ancient vehicles rarely seen in the wider Imperium in modern times, given as 'gifts for service' by their local Forge World, Bentlii Demler. The Inquistion suspects that the chapter acts as an extension of the Forge World, using them as the spearhead for their Explorator fleets, but so far the chapter and Forge World have emerged from such investigations without censure.

<Insert picture of Astartes colour scheme, human-made artwork, or painted model(s) here>

What do you think?'

There's resources around t'interwebs (we're not Marines-focussed, the above is just an example), including Lexicanum and r/40kLore , to help develop your idea before you reach the posting stage. The greatest thing is your own imagination, and we're here to make sure your idea isn't too wacky for 40K, but is as great as it can be.

Also, whilst we're talking posting guidelines, if you've got a cool colour scheme for your models, please add/create some fluff for them before posting. A picture tells 1000 words and all that, but just pictures with nothing to add counts as low-effort.

TL;DR - Remember, this sub is about fluff, not crunch. Please have more than a one line post before you do post.

Thanks all!

Pic 1, Audak and Oli: Audak Stros (left) is a mutated librarian, and Olivera (Right, Oli for short) is a former astropath, now a lieutenant. Haven't nailed down many details of their backgrounds other than that but they are in wuv.

Pic 2, Abdissir: By far the oldest of the partisans and its founder, having been in the iron hands during the horus heresy before defecting into self exile during the wars in the aftermath of horus' invasion of terra. Cybernetically modified to the point of essentially being a brain in a suit of armor.

Pic 3&4, Dox/Dorox: Dox and Dorox were dear friends and tech priests who were slated for servitorization due to heretical innovation. In the middle of the process, both were rescued along with others in a raid by Partisans on the facility they were held in. Dox survived the the escape, but Dorox was fatally wounded in the extraction, and with his waning strength asked his friend to finish turning him into a servitor so that he may always be an arm to shield Dox's back

"By the blood of the Father, we hold this world. Let it be known: no daemon shall tread where our kin have fought. In the name of the Throne, the tainted are purged; let the enemies of the Imperium tremble before the wrath of His Angels of War." Featuring the Auraete Host , Dawn Seraphs and Weeping Pretorians in a blood angel triptych , Ave Imperator , salve Sanguinius

"Stay by me within this cathedral of Him who sits upon the Throne of Gold. We lament the moments our service falls short of His glory, yet we find our purpose in the struggle to be worthy. We rejoice that we are permitted to record their works, for in documenting the sacrifice of the Angels, we ensure their legend outlives the shifting sands of time. Let our hands be steady as we etch their glory into memory, for to witness such valor is the highest honor a servant may claim.""For in this grim darkness of the 41st millennium, our works must be re-done to serve new history; to maintain record of the past and the future.

In His name—Ave, Ave, Ave."

Adeptus Astartes Organisation of the Wardens of the Bastion

The Chapter is divided into five Warden Wings, each fulfilling a specific role in war. While each Wing maintains its own traditions and command structure, they are never intended to fight alone. The Wardens of the Bastion believe that victory is achieved through the combined strength of all Wings acting as a single fortress-army.

First Warden Wing – Wardens of the Keep

"The Keep stands. Therefore, we stand."

The Wardens of the Keep are the veterans and guardians of the Chapter's most sacred traditions. They are entrusted with the defense of the Bastion itself and often serve as the Chapter Master's personal force. When the enemy launches a counterattack against the Bastion, it is the Wardens of the Keep who hold the line.

Role: Veteran assault forces Defense of the Bastion Command cadre and honor guards Breaking enemy spearheads

Typical Units: Terminators Bladeguard Veterans Sternguard Veterans Aggressors Land Raiders

Second Warden Wing – Stone Wardens

"Stone endures."

The Stone Wardens form the bulk of the Chapter's fighting strength. They are the warriors who establish battle lines, seize objectives, and hold territory once it has been won.

Role: Main battle line Defensive operations Garrison duties Sustained engagements

Typical Units: Intercessors Heavy Intercessors Hellblasters Tactical Marines Dreadnought support

Third Warden Wing – Siege Wardens

"Every wall has a weakness."

The Siege Wardens are masters of destruction. They specialize in reducing enemy fortifications, armored formations, and hardened defensive positions.

Role: Siege warfare Heavy fire support Vehicle warfare Breaching operations

Typical Units: Devastators Eradicators Centurions Vindicators Repulsor Executioners Combat Doctrine

Fourth Warden Wing – Shadow Wardens

"We arrive before the dawn."

The Shadow Wardens are the eyes and ears of the Chapter. Operating weeks or even months ahead of the main force, they gather intelligence, sabotage defenses, and prepare the battlefield for the arrival of the Bastion. Among all the Wings, they are considered the most secretive and are rumored to preserve many ancient traditions inherited from their Dark Angels lineage.

Role: Reconnaissance Infiltration Sabotage Target acquisition Assassination missions

Typical Units: Scouts Infiltrators Incursors Eliminators Reivers

Fifth Warden Wing – Storm Wardens

"Swift as the storm. Unyielding as the wall."

The Storm Wardens are the Chapter's rapid-response force. While the rest of the Chapter advances like a fortress, the Storm Wardens move ahead, exploiting breakthroughs, hunting fleeing enemies, and responding to threats before they can endanger the Bastion. Many of the Chapter's most daring warriors serve within their ranks.

Role: Fast attack operations Flanking maneuvers Pursuit of retreating forces Rapid reinforcement Deep strike assaults

Typical Units: Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs Outriders Inceptors Storm Speeders Vanguard Veterans

Adeptus Astartes Finally pinning down the origin of my chapters Gene-seed

Hey guys, it’s me, the guy who’s asking questions about his cyber-horse / hippogrif ridding chapter, the Corvid Blades, looking for some advice.

Last question post I made in regard to my chapter, I ask if I should make my chapter chimeric. The respond I got was a resounding no but there was a comment that caught my eye and I’m now considering doing and just wanted some opinions on it. That idea is pulling a Carmine Blade and have my chapter believe they descend from the Dark Angels but in reality come from Blood Angels. Like how Carmine Blade thought they were Ultramarines but found out they were Blood Angels

Now this is the current scenario I have with that idea. The chapter for a long time believed they came from the Dark Angels. Despite that they really never had any true interactions with the DA before the great rift. Any records detailing most of their history (something that was already fuzzy) and the possible chance of them having an inner circle also got destroyed when some night lords did a funny and crashed a ship into the monastery. Now after rebuilding and meeting up with the Dark Angels, they tell them we descend from you. Now during all that time they’ve been dealing with the red thirst and black rage but have no idea what it is.

So question time. Would they tell the DAs about this? Would the DAs bring them in the fold along with other successor chapters? What would the Blood Angels reaction be to seeing the chapter when they finally meet? Will the Corvid Blades have to Balance both the secrets of the fallen and the flaw?

Any help or possible ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Also for those wondering what the OG idea was, the Corvid Blades had an unknown gene-seed but believed they came from the Lion but didn’t actively tried to go out to prove it.

Adeptus Astartes Bloodied Tears lore dump minus history dump

Upvotes

(I'm like 40% sure I'm not ready to lock on with this version)

(Unconfirmed) Founding: 3rd

Founding Chapter: Blood Angels

Homeworld: unrecorded homeworld (Destroyed), Schroedus

Fortress-Monastery: Battle Barge Siegfried

Colours: marble white with black pauldrons, helmet and gold faceplate, company colours indicated by trim under kneepad

Specialty: Fast Attack

Warcries: By honour and blood we are his Sons, By tears and blades we are power

Culture

While their first homeworld was destroyed, their culture persisted in the Chapter Serfs who were chosen by the original 10 Noble Houses to become Chapter Serfs and the Battle-brothers who kept their heritage alive upon becoming an Astartes. The culture seem to have had a medieval society as the word 'Astartes-Noble' is a prevalent term along with other terms that relate to a medieval era. The etymology of the titles are based from the dominant languages from the unknown homeworld that have merged into the primary language of the Chapter alongside High Gothic. Chapter Serfs deployed with Bloodied Tears squads are known to translate when a Bloodied Tear speaks completely in the primary language's words into more comprehensible High Gothic.

The general characteristics of a Bloodied Tears Battle-brother was that of selective benevolence. To other Astartes and high-status individuals, they could be considered pretentious and stubborn but have shown to be compassionate and were often saviors that managed to turn the tide of battle and after a deployment ending in victory, the Bloodied Tears House-serfs would deliver crates filled with highly fresh and organic foodstuffs including cuts of meat and fruits and finely aged bottles of Amasec.

(Some of these bottles go as far as being created in M33)

To most Imperial citizens and Blood Angel Successor Chapters however, they are met with scorn, indifference to their lives and concerns and to Successor Chapters, a belief that they are inferior to the Bloodied Tears. This is where the belief of the Chapter Cult is the strongest, in that they believe they are the Second Sons of Sanguinius and are the true successors of the Blood Angels. Whenever any Successor Chapter of the Blood Angels are within the same deployment as the Bloodied Tears, they are treated as valued cannon fodder or vastly disliked distant relatives. The Bloodied Tears have made and will make various attempts to supercede command from other Chapters even in battles they have joined.

The Bloodied Tears have acquired a reputation of being garrulous and haughty due to their need to announce their presence to other Imperial forces with verbose statments and sentences. I later researched and deduced this to be a form of seperation from the first homeworld's culture where noblemen spoke either in High Gothic or another language in public and spoke in the primary languages in private, adapted to using overly loquacious paragraphs in public view.

Homeworld

While the Bloodied Tears' first homeworld was unrecorded, it is believed to be either a Feudal World due to the noble titles and aristocratic mannerisms or more recently considered when I discovered that the Bloodied Tears have been modifying their still unfielded Invictor Tactical Warsuits with additional armour plates, a Bloodfist with a built-in Storm Bolter and a Multi-Melta. I had determined that the Bloodied Tears' first Aspirants after the Horus Heresy were from a unrecorded Knight World.

Regardless, the previous Chapter Masters and the Space Marines before had mapped out the unrecorded homeworld's geography and various notes of the people's features and characteristics of the 5 continents, Nördlich, Thoir, Väster and Méridional and Jastorf.

(The maps shown to me have been copies of copies of the original maps)

The current Homeworld as of M42 is now the Feudal World Schroedus. The biomes of Schroedus is that of hinterlands, massive swathes of dense rainforests and rocky terrain all divided by 6 continents and if the Bloodied Tears archives is to be believed, it is remarkedly similar to the first homeworld.

The people of Schroedus has just began their eras into being a Feudal World before the Bloodied Tears claimed it and overrode the previous culture after sending their Chapter Serfs to the planet, ensuring that they do not worship Chaos and to make the Chapter into venerated beings for the people to send them potential Thanes and possibly elevation into becoming a Chapter Serf.

The Hive World Ruijakker II is also a recruiting world for the Bloodied Tears if they deem the numbers of Thanes from Schroedus after the trials of being too low.

Recruitment

Prior to the vote of making Schroedus their homeworld, the Chapter had sourced their Thanes within the Chapter Serfs' children and descendants onboard the Battle Barges Vercingetorix, Siegfried and Cú Chulainn.

Before they can be considered an Thane, they are to cull out at least half of their numbers either by persuading them away from becoming a Thane and continue their path as a Chapter Serf or kill them and gain renown by their fellows.

After the culling, the remaining boys are given a laspistol and a shock maul and are given one standard Terran day to find and return with at least 2 golden bloodtears in the lower decks as their first test and encouraged teamwork and kinship with their fellow boys. These decks were filled with both savage creatures, humans and animals from their destroyed homeworld that have adapted to the environment of the Battle Barges.

When the remaining boys returned, they were ordered to show all of their golden bloodtears as their second test. If there was blood on a bloodtear, they were ordered to give a pint of their blood to the Apothecarion or return to their life as a Chapter Serf. If a Aspirant had more than 2 bloodtears, they would be shot for succumbing to greed. The ones who followed the orders were asked to keep one bloodtear to themselves for their potential Power Armour.

The last test of the remaining boys is to hunt a great beast of the previous homeworld. Most would try to hunt the Stonecrawler, a giant but slow insect that hangs off of pipes or the Pipe Jumper, a long-bodied primate that had adapted to stalks lone Chapter Serfs and hide between pipes.

(I was told that these creatures are at their most dangerous when they're cornered)

The very few and brightest however will realise that they are meant to a specific beast: the Pard. A beast of an elusive reputation spread by the Chapter Serfs to be a great and fierce hunter yet no one had ever seen one nor have been attacked by one. Hidden within the middle of the Battle Barges is the Blessed Pillar, a place where the Reclusiarch blesses them before giving them access to the arena armoury. All of them would then be faced with a giant felid with 6-legs with a pure red spotted coat. After the lasts of the boys died and the even fewer survived, they are now considered Thanes and are sent to the Sanguinary Priests to become Neophytes.

Gene-seed

Their Gene-seed causes their upper front row of teeth to be forcibly pushed out or pulled out in exchange for sharp and numerous canines. While I thought that their Gene-seed was the cause of the lower numbers in the Death Company, I was quickly proven to be false by the Sanguinary Priests showed that the Black Rage and the Red Thirst still persisted, it was just the Bloodied Tears' general conviction that allows them to stave off the Black Rage.

Tactics

Before the end of M36, the Bloodied Tears was initially a Codex-Compliant Chapter but after the Onslaught of Krasts at the end of M36, the Chapter have swapped out the Mark VII for the Mark VI but Devastator Squads still utilized the Mark VII and the older Mark III.

They also began to utilise Warrior Serfs to soak up the first wave of battle and honour before making the landfall themselves.

As the Chapter primarily used the Mark VI Corvus due to its lighter construction, the Bloodied Tears excel with small groupings of Tactical and Bike Squads along with their Devastator Squads fielding at least one Battle-brother with a weapon that can deny enemy movement. Each deployment would see a number of Scout Marines being deployed alongside Tactical Squads for hit-and-run manoeuvres when they are not riding as a Chevalier.

When the Primaris reinforcements arrived, they were split into their own squadrons until all of the Chapter fully became Primaris. After which, the Chapter quickly switched to Mark X Phobos pattern Power Armour and only use Tacticus for Champions and Ancients. While Tacticus pattern's use in the Chapter is limited, Gravis and Omnis is more widely used and the squads that utilises them.

The Scout Bike Squads, Bike Squads and later on, Primaris Outriders have merged into a single unit called Chevalier Squads with one non-Scout Marine being the Sergeant known as Lance-Chevalier. These Chevalier Squads are deployed to temper the young Neophytes into the Chapter tactics. After 50 years of service in the 10th Company, they are allocated to Companies with low numbers and become a Battle-brother.

Organization

The Bloodied Tears mostly operate in compliance with the Codex Astartes, the main deviations from the Codex are the 9-man Chevalier Squads, the extensive use of Warrior Serfs, the ranks of the Bloodied Tears including various nobility titles and all 10 Captains and the Chapter Master forming a assembly called the Drēor Council.

In addition, all Neophytes chooses one of 10 surnames from a Chapter House unless they are a Chaplain, Sanguinary Priest, Librarian or Techmarine in which case they replace their House name with the specialists ranks' surname. The Chapter Serfs also follow this custom barring the specialist roles' names. Champions and Ancients however relinquished their House names and instead are referred to by their forenames or their role.

The 80 Death Company Marines are divided into 20 before being transported into a Battle Company's current Strike Cruiser.

Prior to Schroedus, the Chapter had operated their Fleet by flying in three seperate groups for approximately 50 years and upon a determined time-date deliberated by the Drēor Council, they would travel to a chosen system to join back up and to fly across the void as one fleet for half a century.

Chapter Master: Ulrich Bergfalk - 750 years since

Grand Speaker: Aaron Wirth - 710 years since

Sanguinary High Priest: Ailín Amsel - 844 years since

8th Company Captain: Trahaearn Stark - 401 years since

9th Company Captain: Murchadh Voss - 370 years since

10th Company Captain: Eachann Gwerder - 530 year since

Death Company

In a rather unusual manner, the Death Company of the Bloodied Tears have only had 80 Marines who have succumbed to the Black Rage as its minority total. 20 Death Company Marines are sent to the 4 Battle Companies with the majority of the Death Company being comprised of completely lucid Marines who willingly forsake their titles as a Astartes-Noble and rank within the Chapter in seeking a glorious death like the Primarch of the Blood Angels, usually made up of Captains and Veterans who believe that their death is nearing.

While the colours of a Bloodied Tears Death Company is largely stays the same with the notable changes being the red saltire on their right pauldron and the white wings of the Chapter symbol repainted in red, lucid Death Company Marines will paint an additional red saltire on their helmets.

Fleet Composition

Battle Barges: 3

Strike Cruisers: 6

Escort Cruisers: 10

Notable Fleet Vessels

Adeptus Astartes The Crimson Vow

Thumbnail

Name: Crimson Vow

Founding: Unknown

Allegiance: Imperium of Man

Warcry: Remembrance! Restraint! Resolve!

Icon: Three-pronged gold trident

Colors: Crimson, gold, black, and white

Size: 9 Companies

Chapter Master: High Centurion Ardan Velas, First of the Severed.
Current master of the Crimson Vow and the warrior most responsible for shaping the Chapter’s identity. Once a Line-Master, Velas rose to prominence after he was the first among his brothers to step forward and draw The Stillpoint from its pedestal deep within a long-abandoned Dark Age of Technology vault. The ancient trident became a unifying symbol for the struggling band of warriors, and under Velas’ leadership they were forged into something greater.

Homeworld: None (Fleet-based)
The Chapter draws recruits from worlds they patrol.

Fortress Monastery: The Remnant Voice
An Apocalypse-class warship found in a forgotten ship graveyard orbiting a gas giant the chapter named "The Grave Halo". The ancient warship's engines are damaged beyond repair, yet its reactor remains strong. There are no signs of the original crew or what caused the blackened ship's fate.

Sanctuary System: The Helicaris Drift
An uninhabited system beyond Imperial space. Thasian Veleth first spoke of the Helicaris Drift after recurring dreams of twin stars beyond a silent graveyard of drifting wrecks. When brought before the other Echo Bearers, each revealed they had witnessed similar visions. High Centurion Ardan Velas allowed the Librarians to pursue the visions, and under their guidance the Crimson Vow passed safely through hidden Warp routes into the Drift.

Culture Doctrine: The Silence Between Breaths
Every breath is a chance to master the self. Through discipline, all foes may be overcome.

Ground Doctrine: Precision strikes with small teams. If greater force is needed, armored assault is deployed. The chapter favors multiple concentrated attacks to keep the enemy off balance.

Void Doctrine: Layered, tactical volleys, coordinated boarding actions, and preservation-focused tactics. Their fleet is ancient and difficult to replace, and every vessel is treated as a relic of the Chapter’s history. When one of their ships faces destruction, the Chapter fights with relentless determination to either preserve it or ensure it meets a worthy end.

Notable Characters:
Atrax the Unmourned
Sole survivor discovered in stasis aboard the barren Remnant Voice. The War Hound Contemptor Dreadnought was unaware of what happened to the rest of the crew. He swore an oath of friendship to the chapter, but refused to take the Vow. He remains in the old War Hound colors, but with a black mark painted over the icon. Armed with twin-linked heavy bolters and a power fist.

Ancient Orrik Varos
Oldest Dreadnought in the chapter. Hull is modified to be a "Siege pattern" Contemptor with heavier front paneling, a multi-melta, and drill claw. Former Devastator Optio who was badly wounded after holding a hill while waiting for reinforcements. He remembers the dark times before Ardan rose to command.

Bastion Sevrak, the Vowbound
Chapter Champion of the Crimson Vow. Standing a full head taller than his brothers, Sevrak was once a Steadfast Optio who chose to make a final stand against an Ork assault, buying the Chapter’s command staff time to evacuate thousands of civilians. Believed to be dead after the battle, Pale Hands were dispatched to recover his gene-seed. Instead, they found him still standing amidst the ruins, wounded and battered, and leaning heavily upon the remains of his shattered chainblade. Upon taking the mantle of the Vowbound, he swore an oath of silence and cast aside the name he once carried, becoming Bastion Sevrak.

Isten Marr, the First Warden
One of the few Chaplains within the lost Expeditionary Fleet. When battle descended into chaos upon Drosvenn, he became the singular voice of reason. The full measure of his will was brought to bear in rallying the survivors and restoring order. As both judge and guardian of the Chapter, it is said he could halt an argument with a glance and silence a room with a single word. Clad in black Mark II armor and crimson robes bearing the names of the fallen, Marr remains a living link to the Chapter's earliest days and the oath that forged it.

Thasian Veleth, Seer of Echoes
After a devastating strike incapacitated the Master of the Fleet, Librarian Thasian Veleth assumed command, utilizing his gift of foresight to direct the War Hounds vessels above Drosvenn. His guidance allowed the fleet to recover from the ambush and mount a successful counterattack, preserving many of the survivors and vessels that would go on to serve the chapter. Years later, Veleth dreamed of twin stars and a drifting graveyard. He pondered these visions before bringing them before the other Echo Bearers, who shared similar portents. With Ardan's blessing, he led an expedition into the void and discovered the Helicaris Drift. There he charted the safe passages into the system and established the sanctuary that would shelter the Crimson Vow. He is clad in blue Mark IV armor with white robes and bears a metal staff as a symbol of his office.

Company Organization:
1st Company: The Severed
High Centurion Ardan Velas
Centurion Caldus Roake
“His will. Our blades.”

2nd Company: The Measured
Centurion Athon Velric
“Every strike, a promise kept.”

3rd Company: The Trident Guard
Centurion Garran Dros
“From three virtues, all strength flows.”

4th Company: The Vigilant
Centurion Ulric Thorne
“Ever watchful, that none may pass unseen.”

5th Company: The Stalwart
Centurion Malric Vorn
“The enemy can break, it’s just a matter of when.”

6th Company: The Lightning
Centurion Theron Kest
“To pause is not to falter.”

7th Company: The Close Vigil
Centurion Brannoc Strake
“Control the space. The rest will follow.”

8th Company: The Held Sight
Centurion Orren Vale
“Patience is a weapon.”

9th Scout Company: The Long Silence
Centurion Jorath Dravon

Adeptus Astartes The Lords Of Mortis

They hale from a far away sector unknown to most. Chapter homeworld is Mortis Prime, they are apart of the systems hierarchy. They are quite literally the lords of the planet, it’s surprisingly a paradise world. Lush green forest, high mountains, oceans that stretch as far as the eye can see. Their fortress monastery sits in the middle of a Great Lake in the north west part of the main continent. Surrounded by a giant dark oak forest. Their chapter colors are black and white. Symbol is a skull being pierced by a black flamed sword of a field of white. They praise themselves on being effective and efficient in every aspect of war. Although they strangely are even better at siege craft. The inquisition has tried to investigate them several times but the avenging son himself has vowed for them. They have an unknown founding. Though records show they have been in action sense the great scouring to the modern setting. They are secretive to outsiders but for some reason have found strong bonds of kinship with the ultramarines, blood angels, executioners, most surprisingly the black templars and many other chapters. Even having good relations with the adeptus mechanicus. Veterans have often adorned small symbols from the other chapters they served alongside with. Most recently they defended the Mortis system (my canon) from an ork waaahhgg that turned into a battle with the red corsairs. The avenging son and the indomitus crusade showed up and magically saved the day. Filling their ranks with more astartes. Their most known and legendary company is the second company, the death dealers. Sent to fight in the most harsh campaigns. The company champion is commander Daudi Beckett. Chapter master is Ignatius the destroyer, known for his outstanding leadership and named after the destruction of a tomb world when he was just company captain. During said campaign against the necrons the previous chapter master died. And with his valiant acts he was voted chapter master. The current chapter master has bolstered their alliances.

Thats all I really have for now, I’m in the middle of painting my minis but honestly I don’t care if people hate on it. I’d like to hear thoughts and ideas on where I could do better. THANK YOU

Mechanicus Forgeworld Cadera

Currently I haven't written much lore about this forgeworld, but here is what I currently have. The mechanicus of Cadera have a tendency to work closely with knight houses and space marine chapters they supply aid to. This aid is not out of the goodness of their hearts however. Since the galaxy was ripped in half , the Cadera have been stuck in Imperial Nihilus ,so they've gotten desperate.

The Cadera has several chapters and knight houses apart of an agreement, Ironclad, that forces all parties to come to each other's immediate aid. As a benefit, the Knights and Marines are provided some of the mechanicus's private armory

Artwork So I made a dreadnought that crash landed into a medieval-ish planet with low end tech of the imperium after a battle on space

They were rebuilt after the crash by the locals but lost all of their memories from their life as an astartes and began a new life on the world of instovonya

It's a planet that lost contact with the imperium hundreds of years ago and was only left with some of the tech due to the imperium focusing on more important worlds to the point that they were forgotten including the royalty here who after hundreds of years

Forgot that there's more than the planet out there

The marvels

The horrors and more

But let's get back to the dreadnought

His name is Markus

Well that's his name after he lost all his memories and the people named him that

And he's just a farmer and a builder for a town called "Smith skin"

He protected this town for years from raiders and corrupt kingdoms

Currently he's just chilling

Farming

Building new stuff

It's nice

But what legion was he from before he got this new life?

Who knows

It's up to y'all for this

Adeptus Astartes Question about Drop Keeps

Could a space marine chapter get access to a drop keep?

Doing a bit for my homebrew and was curious if they could essentially drop a mini fortress onto a battlefield. I saw drop keeps and I believe the church has a similar thing. Like they drop a cathedral to preach to a world, I believe. Drop keep looked more fortified so I was thinking if a chapter could get their hands on one.

Now I don't have 12 knights for it to be dropped with, currently on have 3 knights normally attached to my chapter. And at most would be 5 depending on the current campaign, but thats more a surge than a "steady" attendance. So the plan would be to retrofit it for Marines honestly. But don't know if I could justify it. Looking for a bit of perspective.

Also, if there are other under utilized fortifications in the setting, please let me know. I've seen things like Hammer fall bunkers not really being spoken about and fire storm turrents (i think theyre called) not really covered and am trying to show them some love in my homebrew.

Down for the critiques if you have em and willing to debate the validity if someone will ask the hard questions. Hopefully that made sense.
